In late 2001 Amaranthus formed, destined to destroy the senses of all that heard them. Over the course of three years the band has evolved with the sound growing ever stronger. The group's original members include Rob Delaney on vocals, the blistering low end sounds of Jonathan Thayer on bass, Scott Webber ripping up solos, melodies and brutal rhythms on his axe. As time wore in the evolution of Amaranthus members were added to bring new levels of musicianship to the band. Adam Lamb joined Amaranthus after blowing away the competition to become the second guitarist. Ben Blank and Matt Tifft also came aboard. Ben rose to the position of drums and Matt filled a new role with the band, the keyboardist. Their sound has been influenced by such bands as Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, Unearth, Children of Bodom, Metallica, & Rhapsody.
With the band now a solid unit they have created a new style of music. A style now known as Cock Rockin' Metal! With appearances with acts such as Darkest Hour, Dead To Fall, Martyr AD, Evergreen Terrace, The Red Chord, A Life Once Lost, and many others Amaranthus' shows guarantee that you will leave feeling breathless and at a loss for words.
