About me:
I live in South London (near Wimbledon) and I work in public relations. It's not a bad job which is why I have stayed in it for over 10 years now :)
I am Irish by heritage but English by birth. My birthpace is Clapham in London but we moved around a lot when I was a kid. I spent two years living in Drogheda (in Ireland) - which I hated - and then another seven years living in Malta - which was great! Came back to London when I was 16 and been here ever since. London's great too...
In terms of my interests I love good food but am a crap cook so eat out a lot. I enjoy travelling with Barcelona, Prague and Copenhagen being amongst my favourite European destinations. I recently visited the Philippines with some friends (my first trip to Asia) and had a fantastic time.
I go to the movies regularly and I like a bit of everything. I know its a bit of a cliche but my favourite film is Shawshank Redemption. I generally like the big action blockbusters but also have time for more thoughtful 'pretty' stuff like American Beauty and Amelie. I can even be persuaded to go to the odd chick flick!
I am also into music and like pretty much everything apart from hardcore metal. I attended the Glastonbury Festival in both 2003 and 2005. Sleeping in tents is not normally my 'thing' but honestly those two weekends were two of the greatest weekends of my life. The bands, the people, the weirdness, the rain - everything just combines perfectly. If you haven't been then I would definitely recommend you do it at least once in your life! Hopefully I can get tickets for 2007 - see you there :p Favourite CD at the moment is the Arctic Monkeys album which is getting played to death in my car!
Probably my biggest time wasting hobby is gaming - both on and offline. Been playing EVE-Online (www.eve-online.com) for the past three years and you will notice my blogs are dedicated to my adventures there - sad I know - but its fun so I don't care! ;-)
I also played World of Warcraft eventually gaining two level 60 characters but gradually got bored of it. Offline my favourite game at the moment is Hearts of Iron II - a world war II strategy war game that simply sucks away my time but I love the alternative history options and the ability to play out WWII as any country in the world.
When I am not working, eating, traveling, watching movies listening to music or playing games I will generally occupy the rest of my time reading. I love historical novels based around the Napoleonic wars (both at sea and on land) and am also a fan of sci-fi/fantasy.
I am single at the moment. Haven't ever really put much effort into romance in the vain hope that will just bump into my one true love in the street one day and discover that she likes the same stuff that I do. It hasn't happened yet so starting to get a bit nervous about that approach. May need to start putting some effort in ;-)
That's it for now...
I love this video :p
