This 19 yr old ex Varsity Starting QB began boxing in Nov. 2007. He is 4-0 and the 2008 Kansas City Regional Novice 165 lb Champion! His first three fights were first round KO's. He has a long way to go but what a great start! Congrats Kenny!

CBS47 Fresno was good enough to come and showcase my gym ALEMAN BOXING FRESNO Featured in this news piece are: Gary Salazar & Bernel Washington of Aleman Boxing, Fresno PAL’s Marc Anthony Hernandez & Bakersfield PAL’s Edwin Sandoval. Gary, MA Hernandez and Edwin were all CCA & Region 11 Champions. 15-16 year old champions advanced to the US Jr Olympic National Championships where MA Hernandez won the bronze medal and Edwin won the Silver medal.
The reason I opened this gym earlier this year was to give kids, ages 8-19, a place to train for boxing who wanted to compete. I offer this gym to them free of charge. I am in no way affiliated with any organizations such as the PAL, Police Athletic League, which the news caster wrongly says. The reason I mention this, is not to say any thing bad about PAL, I just want people to know that this is all my doing, not a organization. I don’t ask for donations because I don’t have a non-profit number yet. Hopefully some day, but they are expensive to set up. I offer the gym to all ages who wish to compete or just get in shape. So those 20 and older who join are the ones that pay the bills around here. I can always use more members to continue to offer this to the kids of Fresno.
If you sign a one year contract, gym memberships are only $50 a month. And remember, you not only get in shape, but u give a place for kids to learn a sport that teaches individualism, strength, honor & hope!
2008.06.19 ALEMAN BOXING FRESNO: IRVINE Ballroom Battle Report! Highly regarding prospect Jose Roman, out of Jerome Boxing Club in Santa Ana was debuting before 150 of his fans, facing 18 year old Jorge Magallanes out of Aleman Boxing Fresno. A war is all you can say. Magallanes landed hard shot after hard shot through out the first round. As the jr lightweights came out for the second, Magallanes landed a perfect left hook knocking Roman to the floor. Roman beat the count and once he gathered himself, was able to land a hard right that knocked down Magallanes late in the second round. Roman finally stopped Magallanes in the forth round with ten seconds left. Both fighters split over $100 in fans cash. 2008.06.21 ALEMAN BOXING FRESNO: SAN FRANCISCO Luis Villagomez, Azbai Arreguin & Jasmine Chacon all fought at San Francisco’s Monster Park NEXT UP!!! 2008.06.12 ALEMAN BOXING FRESNO: LUIS VILLAGOMEZ GETS THE BAD END OF A BAD DECISION. Luis Villagomez lost a decision to Roman Morales, ranked #5 in the nation, of San Ardo. After two and a half rounds the doctor was called to the ring, due to bleeding by Morales, but he let the fight continue.

2008.06.07 ALEMAN BOXING FRESNO: GOES 2-1 LUIS VILLAGOMEZ & JASMINE CHACON BOTH STOP THEIR OPPONENTS IN MODESTO! Modesto, CA – Luis Villagomez won with another fourth round stoppage. His opponent was Steven Rapadas of Sacramento. Luis is on a five bout winning streak and has stopped his last two opponents. 14 year old Jasmine Chacon won by stopping the hometown girl of Modesto, in the second round! John Watts, in his 7th bout this year, lost by decision. Azbai Arreguin’s bout was cancelled when her opponent came in over weight by ten pounds. Luis Villagomez boxes again this Thursday, 6/12/08, in Sacramento against an opponent ranked in the top 5 of the nation. Then all four of these boxers, Luis, Jasmine, John & Azbai are matched to box in San Francisco on June 21st. On the 21st in San Francisco, Luis Villagomez is scheduled to box someone in the top 5 of the nation again… ALEMAN BOXING FRESNO: PRO NEWS Heavyweight Clay Herzing will be making his pro debut this Friday in Reno, NV. 2008.05.26 ALEMAN BOXING FRESNO: LUIS VILLAGOMEZ WINS IN CLOVIS! Clovis, CA – Luis Villagomez won the rematch with a fourth round stoppage of the Clovis boxer who got the unfair decision against him in the Golden Gloves tournament earlier this year. John Watts & Gary lost very close decisions.

In his last bout on March 28th, 2008, Whitt defeated the power punching Lasheem Richardson, of Church Street Boxing Gym, by unanimous decision. Whitt used crisp counter right hooks to keep Richardson at bay. When on the inside, Whitt used his tremendous hand speed to outland Richardson with combinations to the body and head. When it was all said and done Whitt defeated Richardson once again, and is headed to the “Worlds Most Famous Arena”, Madison Square Garden, to compete for the Golden gloves!
Come check out the reigning Long Island Amateur Boxing Championship Belt holder, and Two-time Friday Night Fights 1st Place Champion in action as he attempts to win the prestigious Golden Gloves Tournament!

So far this year, 2008, we have competed in 4 competitions, the Central California Association (CCA) Local Boxing Championships, The Region 11 Championships, the CCA Golden Gloves Championships and The Region 11 Golden Glove Championships. We have won a CCA LB Championship, 1 CCA Golden Glove Championship and 1 Region 11 Golden Glove Championship.

Luis Villagomez, 19, a student at Fresno City College, won the 2008 CCA LB Championship. Luis started boxing as a young child at the age of 11. He has over 50 amateur bouts and had many successes in his carrier.
John Watts, 18, a student at Fresno City College, is a promising young boxer who had his first bout at the Golden Gloves in March 2008. He has a very good chance at copying his predecessors with multiple championships in his first year.
