Originally hailing from Argentina, DJ Ambassador Jr has been following his passion for music and honing his DJ skills for more than 18 years. In 1987, he purchased his first set of turntables and never looked back.
As a DJ, no one can question DJ Ambassador's versatility. While in College at Rhode Island School of Design, he held weekly nights at various nightclubs in Providence and Boston, spinning reggae and dancehall music as well as hip-hop. His record (vinyl) collection of 7000+ records features an eclectic mix of reggae, dancehall ska and rocksteady as well as old and new hip-hop and soul music.
In 1995 he relocated to Brooklyn, New York where he joined the SOUNDLAB SOUND System, a diverse collective of artists, musicians, writers and DJs, which was responsible for major art/music events throughout New York City. While in NY, DJ Ambassador Jr, worked at various nightclubs, including a residency at the Orchard Bar, Save the Robots (on Ave.,A), and the legendary Nuyorican Poet's Café among others.
In 1998, he was featured in DJ Spooky's 'RIDDIM WARFARE' album (Geffen/Outpost records) for a collaboration on one of the tracks. He also produced a remix of the track entitled 'Blue Eye Shadow' for guitarist/singer/sound artist Arto Lindsay on his album 'NOON CHILL/ REENTRY' (2CD box set, 1997).
At the dawn of 2003, DJ Ambassador relocated once more, this time, to Ventura, California where he held a Thursday night residency at The Drink Nightclub (3 years) and Nicholby's Nightclub (1 year). He currently holds a residency at J's Tapas nightclub, in Downtown Ventura, spinning reggae and dancehall every Friday night. In 2004 he joined forces with LIVITY OUTERNATIONAL (www.livity.org), an eco-friendly clothing and luggage company heavily influenced by Jamaican & Caribbean culture with headquarters in Los Angeles. He is the official selector of the Livity Outernational Sound system alongside Papa Ize and MC Kirk and has been actively growing their dub box with dubplates from artists such as I-Wayne, Warrior King, Damian Marley, Bascom X, Turbulence, Bushman, Luciano, Gyptian and many many more. He also performs as a guest DJ in LA and at out-of-state parties and trade shows hosted by LIVITY OUTERNATIONAL.
