AMBERDEEN are coming back as an acoustic duo! keep an eye out! Amberdeen are an independent, acoustic/indie/punk band out of Sydney, NSW. With the mix of both acoustic and electric guitars teamed with strong harmonies they have been compared to Anti-Flag, Hot Hot Heat and Kisschasy (killyourstereo.com). Amberdeen have supported the likes of Something With Numbers, Behind Crimson Eyes and Another Day Down. They released their debut EP in October 2006 titled "Not Forgotten Freedom" and the first track Stay Where You Are was instantly added to FBi Radio (94.5FM). The track has also gained airplay on Triple J's Short Fast Loud and other community stations. The track was chosen as a 'Hottest Pick' in the Uncharted competition and to feature on the Perisher Blue First Tracks compilation. They have also taken the stage at Big Exo Day at Sydney Olympic Park and Blackstump Festival as well as their own shows around Sydney. Recently Amberdeen entered themselves in a competition to support PANIC AT THE DISCO on their Sydney tour, and were announced as one of the Final 3 bands in Australia. A great achievement for a local Penrith band. Some things that have been said about Amberdeen and their debut EP Amberdeen have created a unique sound, which slowly grows on you. Dying Breed, is by far the best track on the EP; it is the epitome of Indie-Punk, with a great riff, dance-inducing verses and a punchy chorus.
