   About AMBER ROSE GUITAR DUO
THE AMBER ROSE GUITAR DUO were drawn together through their talents as arrangers, composers and teachers of the guitar. Few could claim the ability to play, compose and arrange in one style, yet this pair know no limits when it comes to the art of arranging in any genre and also have many published compositions to their credit.- THE AMBER ROSE GUITAR DUO seek to break down any musical barriers between the various musical styles that sometimes exist. Martin and Steve however are just geting on with‘ The Party of Life’ - and enjoying it. The guitars played on the recordings are by Peter Barton, Luthier of Addingham, Ilkley in Yorkshire. As the duo are also from Yorkshire they are particularly proud to be associated with Peter’s work and are of the opinion that he produces some of the finest quality instruments available in the World today. MARTIN NOCKALLS was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire in 1954. Started playing the guitar at age eleven and has since won much acclaim as a soloist. After studying at the Huddersfield School of Music and gaining FLCM, LLCM (TD) ALCM he became professional at the age of twenty and later formed the English Guitar Duo, giving their debut at the Wigmore Hall, London, 1977. He has since pursued a successful career both as a performer and teacher of the guitar. Martin is now Guitar Co-ordinator for a large education authority in Yorkshire,United Kingdom where his craft as a composer and arranger was developed and this resulted in the foundation of The Amber Rose Guitar Music company in 1990, which now has in its catalogue a wealth of over one hundred compositions, arrangements and books on the subject of the guitar. STEVE MERRETT was born in Rotherham,Yorkshire in 1967. After studying classical guitar from the age of nine he then went on to gain a degree in Jazz and Contemporary music from the City of Leeds College of Music, where he studied guitar under Andy Watson and Adrian Ingram. He has worked in many varied live situations including pop bands, jazz ensembles and many theatre shows including “The Hunting of the Snark” at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre with Mike Batt and “African Sanctus” with the composer David Fanshawe. Steve is also proficient on bass guitar, as well as being a successful composer, teacher, arranger and songwriter, with many published works for the guitar to his name.

Pick on Classical?, if my old Flamenco teacher knew that he wouldn't approve too much :D... Then came Strunzs and Farrah!!!A ctually I did that years ago, even putting metal on the first 2 srtrings of my Ramírez. Interesting results. Looking forward to hear your new experiments.
I'm having problems with my nails, so no classical for a while. (Though I read Tárrega didn't use nails...how can you play "Recuerdos..." without nails?)
Today I try a new drummer with my electric trio. He's excellent, moving a step up I guess...but patience is necessary while he learns the material.
Saludos,
Antonio
