AmberVillain Films Demo Reel - Detroit Music Video / Film ..
AmberVillain Films found its roots with the release of the Fisher Price Pixelvision camera in 1987. With this camcorder marketed as "The first camera/recorder designed especially for kids." Beth Amber and Casey Schwochow's world of creating films would begin.
For Casey, it meant shooting movies that revolved around killer trees and filming interesting shots set to well recognized Hollywood soundtracks.
For Beth Amber, it meant capturing friends in heated moments and joyous occasions. These moments typically revolved around musical performances.
Their love of film and music continued throughout high school and the two would often be seen at the local movie theater and live concert venues. Beth Amber and Casey first met in the summer of 1994 at one of these concerts. They both enjoyed each other's passion for the arts and this was proven the very next day after their first encounter, when they drove down to Cleveland to see the very same band yet again.
In college both pursued their love of the arts with film classes. Here they learned aspects of animation, film, video, editing, lighting, audio, and photography.
Not being satisfied with the high financial cost of schooling and the mentality of the typical college film student, the two left college with drive and determination.
After his stint in college Casey started an internship with Top Dog Records. Top Dog Records was the self made label created by a then relatively obscure artist named Kid Rock.
Casey was eager to surround himself with the Rock 'n' Roll lifestyle as well as the work necessary to transform a small time artist into a larger than life multi-platinum music superstar.
With his mission accomplished at Top Dog Records Casey continued his love of film and music and became a live concert filming junkie. It was not uncommon to see Casey filming 5 shows a week. From national touring bands to local acts, every artist was meticulously filmed and documented by Casey.
With school behind her, Beth Amber pursued her love of photography. She would often be seen at local shows with camera in hand. Beth Amber submersed herself in fine art, album cover design, and art shows.
In the spring of 2001 Beth Amber and Casey would merge their passions with a collaborative documentation of a concert event with both video and film. Viewing the photos and footage from that night, the pair knew they were destined to continually work together. The pair, re-energized from now being a duo, intensely hit the live concert scene. Beth put down the still camera and started filming alongside Casey. The pair would not only document individual shows that came to town, but would also be seen on the road filming band's tours.
Response from the Artists and their fans was over-whelming. There was a huge demand for the footage; Beth Amber and Casey were more than happy to help meet it. Footage of theirs would later air on MTV2, Much Music, and other stations around the globe.
Beth and Casey of AmberVillain Films have filmed hundreds of artists in the music field including The White Stripes, Kid Rock, Hank Williams III, Motorhead, LL Cool J, Corey Feldman, Vanilla Ice, Kittie, The Dresden Dolls, and countless others.
While filming the band Crisis on tour in the fall of 2004, Beth and Casey were approached to do a music video for them. With the successful creation of their video for "Waking the Dead" and lots of encouragement both Beth Amber and Casey Schwochow decided to make their love of film into a business.
This same year also saw the Jucifer Home Video, "A Partridge In A Pear Tree" released through AmberVillain films. The Video/DVD captured Jucifers intense live performances and was well received.
In 2007 AmberVillain Films released the Die Hunns "Live In Chi_Town" DVD featuring Legendary skateboarder/rocker Duane Peters.
2007 also marked AmberVillain Films nomination for best music video for "Crud- Reality" at the Detroit Music Awards.
2009 saw the release of the documentary "It Might Get Loud" by academy award winning director Davis Guggenheim. The film features footage of The White Stripes filmed by AmberVillain Films.
Over the years AmberVillain films have completed many projects including promotional videos, commercials, and live concert shots. AmberVillain Films is versatile and continues to consistently work on projects for the small local bands to the large corporate agencies.
