About me: Amblecote Christian Centre previously Amblecote Full Gospel Church has had a team in WMCFL on and off since about the mid eighties from memory. Their first colours were white shirts with sky pin stripes (remember them?), sky shorts and socks. The club was run, amongst others, by Phil Raybould, Steve and Chris Straw and Roger Piper. Jadon Silva's Dad made a brief appearance as did Pete Holliday whose son now plays for W&P. The club floundered half way through the 87-88 season and folded due to injuries and lack of interest. The club was revived by Tim Culter in about 1990 for a couple of years when Tony Bashford took over for a season in 92/93. The club folded again and reappeared in the Youth Alive Central League in 1995. In 1997 Amblecote merged with Bilston Pentecostal Church and ran for about three years jointly with Derek Dudfield and Ed Walker at the helm. In the meantime Amblecote rejoined the YAC League. In 2000 Jadon Silva took the reigns and has run the club in WMCFL ever since.
After a season of consolidation in Division Two, Amblecote were promoted in 2002 after finishing third. They have enjoyed mixed fortunes in the Competitions and fall into the 'nearly men' bracket, reaching the Cup semi final twice and frequently leading Division One, but never finishing higher than second.
