After many years of jointed adventures, Amee Jana has once again redefined her music career, with her latest project The Divine Crime - a hot mix of reggae, dancehall, funk, rock, and dub. Collaborating with some of the hottest 'reggaeians' in Southern Cali, this band is for sure making a unique stamp in the reggae / dub / pop world. This group features the former backing band of HR from Bad Brains, and they just recently opened for legendary greats including Pato Banton & The Mystic Roots Band in Mendocino County, Barrington Levy at Soho in Santa Barbara, and Yellowman at Ventura Theater in Ventura, CA. Amee Jana's music career started in Boston & New York in 1995. Fronting bands such as Desert Martini, Primrose Path, and Hazie Maze helped Jana to gain much respect amongst some of the great soul and funkateers on the map nationally. Amee Jana, a Syracuse University graduate, has not only sold-out countless shows, co-produced three full lengths albums, and worked successfully in many different genres of music; she also has a passion for developing new artists, and has successfully consulted with other artists as a booking agent, artist manager, and publicist.
Recent successes have lead her working and performing with many other successful artists such as Prince, The “Legendary” Neville Brothers, Barrington Levy, The Scientist, Yellowman, Tippa Irie, Nadirah X, Alan Evans (Soulive), The Sam Kininger Band (Soulive, Lettuce), Grammy Nominated Los Amigos Invisibles, Norwood Fisher (Fishbone) and his masterpiece of funk - Trulio Disgracias, Delta Nove, Mystic Roots Band, Myka 9, House of Vibe, The Toledo Show, The Bomb Squad, Dieselboy, Gene Therapy, DJ Manolo, DJ MacGyver as well as many well-known nationally acclaimed producers.
Residing now in Los Angeles, you can find her playing in clubs all of over California, or managing new projects through her new company The Zanzona Group, which specializes in marketing, publicity and artist management.
