About me:

My name is Amelia, but I'm known to most people as Moo (thanks to a certain Bean - I'll get you later! *shakes fist*) Other nicknames are Moomin, Mia, Lia, B, Mim, Mimsy, Mimi... er, well you get the idea. Here's a quick summary of me, below which is more detailed info (well done to anyone who manages to read that far.)

Likes: dressing like a pirate, rosie & jim, jewellery, Gothic architecture, pirates, pancakes, picnics, tea, the sea, sad or tragic love songs, unusued pads of writing paper, computer games - PC & N64, canal boats, stars, snow, trees, fairies, comfortable silence, chocolate, fairy lights, raspberries, the smell of Autumn, swimming pools, Indian food, late summer evenings, moonlight, the night sky, the smell of vanilla tobacco, butterflies, organic cider, sparkly things, mashed potato, bonfires, saffron buns, night air, rhubarb pie, crayfish & rocket sandwiches, horses, cherry madeira cake, cherries, dogs ears, forests, pyjamas.....

Dislikes: clothes that don't hold their shape, soggy handtowels, going to the dentist, indigestion, apples, North Easterly winds, vegetables, people who doubt me - either openly or in secret; I can tell, monkeys, narrow tunnels, clown dolls, cheap cigarette smoke, quiz shows, crowded places, phones, routine, people who give up easily, ET, having to be in certain places at specific times, dieting.....

Last year I completed a degree in Illustration (god knows what possessed me to do it in the first place!!) ...what a waste of time. Though I have made some gorgeous & talented friends who have made the last three years bearable - I love you guys! *group hug with the Fellowship*

I'm kind of drifting right now... for now I'm buying & selling on Ebay to make some cash, as I don't fancy working in somewhere like Tesco (no offence if you work there; it's just not for me) and it's more or less impossible to make a living in art, unless your passion for drawing overrides the need for enough money to live on (which mine doesn't.) Once I've saved a bit of money, I plan on travelling for a while - from what I've seen/heard Finland looks beautiful, so that will be my first trip! I'd also like to go to India (not sure whereabouts yet) and New Zealand (on one of those cargo ships that accommodate a few passengers!)

Career wise (despite having chosen to do an art course) what I really would love is to be a professional musician. I realise it's a pipe dream really, but there's no harm in trying. I've played a range of instruments over the years, but I don't have all that much time to play anymore, so we'll have to see where that goes... nowhere most likely.

Phil Beer & Steve Knightley... *sigh*

I do like various types of music, and I'll listen to anything once, but my real passion is folk music. My fav band is Show of Hands - they're incredible! They saved my life, literally. Anyone into decent music should check them out in my top friends.

I'm currently trying to set up my own website, which will be a bit of everything; art, photography, crafts, ebay, randomness... but it's not going so well. It's a lot more complicated than I ever imagined. But I'm gonna keep trying, so watch this space!

Im gunne keep asking at different places as that REALLY put me off o.0 I was thinking maybe get the outline done and then fill it in sometime later.
Oooh yes, visit Preston and get one done there is tempting if the prices are right. I'll send you (or get Loaf to send it) the line art for the crow and you can take it with you to get quotes, for some reason none charged by the hour but by the design..thats new to me..? xXx

I hope your journey was wonderful!

While you were away, I was looking at some of the prints you have for sale at deviantart. I was immediately drawn to the one called Cheeeeese! (http://www. deviantart. com/print/1119111/).
I thought for sure it was an Iriquois false-face mask.
When I read your comment and saw its kinship to the other huge-yellow-eyed images, and realized you probably hadn't meant it as a false-face. We had a false-face mask in the museum my father ran when I was a kid, and it looked just like that. Here's a random false-face mask that's sort of similar (http://www. snowgoose. ca/native/DSCN0145. JPG).
They were powerful healing magic objects that were carved in a living tree, based on a dream or vision, and the tree was cut down after the carving was finished. The masks were supposed to scare sickness and depression out of people.

Sorry went away for dinner! Yep it feels good but scary looking for houses coz of the money involved! So expensive. I'm lookin at spending £400 a month on rent which is half my wages.
Sigh! I know there are people alot poorer out there and I should count myself lucky, but I wish it wasn't quite so tight!

Nothing very interesting - been viewing houses in cam on my days off!! Nothin yet although got a couple to look at tomo. Am in no rush.. I've actually made friends with one of my old managers Chris. It's started rumours that we're going out that is quite funny (we're not), so been gong out to lunch wi him n stuff alot. Oh oh did i tell you there's a Penhalligans in Cambridge and I never knew! You have to come visit sometime coz I know some really nice places in cam now too thanks to chris (including lovely pub next to river on midsummer common - lovely to sit outside with chilled glass of white - num!) Only one and a half weeks now till Ireland woot woot woot! I'm SO going to nab me a man at any opportunity and take pics of Irish Hair...
