thirst for life
swallowed
into dry depths of pain
gasping
a dense despair
salted eyes
stare blankly in vain.
a torrent sound
whispering,
replying to me
the air in between my tears
a seashell's echo of the sea.
.. the skinny:
I liked this poem.It centres around the idea of pain and the need to be comforted,or to overcome an obstacle. There is a thirst for life when a person is struggling to overcome I felt submerged,as the beginning of the poem creates depth and darkness; yet, I am unbound. I could relate to the idea of the seashell when I was
writing this...
In the seashell, I hear the sea.
The emptiness of the shell fills my ears.
It is whispering to me.
It is symbolic to the ocean, to divinity, to life and death.
It is a dry sound that I am convincing my senses is water- rather, it is the sea.
Even writing this, I am yearning.
Yearning to believe that this sound of the sea is speaking quietly to me.Heroes
