If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. - Thoreau
Loves me some Jason and Matt, Indian and Chinese cuisine, Dawn French, silver earrings, the Smiths, funky (some call 'em ugly) shoes, gay bars, Dita Von Teese and McDonald's iced coffee with a vanilla shot and 2 Splendas
Music
My three favorite bands are the Smiths, pre-Achtung Baby U2, and the Toadies. But, having said that, I typically just dip a little toe into a band's catalog, listening only to the songs I know well enough to sing along to while completely ignoring the other tracks.

About me: Brash and opinionated but my exceedingly patient husband usually keeps me in check. Loud and lively and always fun. Early 80's Brit pop/new wave fanatic. Fiercely devoted to equality for all. Not as intelligent or worldly as some might think because I'm really good at faking my way through life. Greatest fear is that someday everyone will realize that I'm not nearly as pulled together as I seem.
Who I'd like to meet: anyone with something insightful or funny to share.
I went to the doctor's today. I have a bad sinus infection, which explains the excruciating headache I've had for two days. I was fine last night, but the bastard snuck up on me again this morning. The visit cost me $158 because I don't have my stupid insurance card yet (and should have gotten at the first of March). On top of everything else, I've missed two days of work without pay. Sheesh.
I was actually referring to the Beltway itself, with its bizarre mix of Maryland, Virginia, DC and occasional Pennsylvania drivers. They really do teach people to drive differently in every state - I think it is some kind of joke. Anyway, the status fits for many working in DC, as well. As long as Cheney is out of power, I'm happier, though I would like to see him in jail.
