Just venting today and passing it on.....
I am 100% pissed off right now.
I don’t even know where to start because I have so many thoughts running through my head.
I just went down to the vital stats in my city to try to obtain info on my adoption.
I am absolutely sick of the fact that they can say that they will charge you with a crime for putting false information on a birth certificate or marriage certificate, and in the same breath say that adoptee’s certificates are different!!
I personally feel they should have NO LEGAL RIGHT to modify or create a BIRTH CERTIFICATE and claim it as legit.
They should have a document known as a CERTIFICATE OF LEGAL GAURDIANSHIP for ALL adoption situations. The original birth certificate should remain intact and sealed until opened at the age 18 or 21 preferred or per state regulations.
The CERTIFICATE OF LEGAL GAURDIANSHIP should list the exact same stats (race, dob, weight, length etc) for the adoptee as the original save the name and the rest of it should list the parents as the adoptive father, adoptive mother with their desired data.
Why this type of document was never created or used is beyond me. I am tired of looking at my little piece of fiction.
I hate that they continue to give you the run around even if you are trying to go about searching the “legal” way…not that they even know what that is anymore, if ever!!!
Anyway I’m done venting now…lol ~MEL~
PS I did have a wonderful upbringing and I love my (a) parents, sisters, brothers, and extended family.
