Our website (http://www.americana-uk.com) is still our main space on the internet and you can find album reviews, interviews, features, a forum and all the usual gubbins there, but we’ve finally dragged ourselves kicking and screaming into the social networking (ugh, horrible phrase) world as well.
What you’ll find here are some tracks from our current faves (these will change at least monthly), a snapshot of gigs happening in the next few weeks (check the main site for full details) and probably the odd provocative blog or three. If we get really competent in the future then who knows, there might be videos and all sorts making an appearance, but for the moment we’re just happy to be here and begging people to be our virtual friends.
Dear Americana-UK, Thanks so much for the friendship. You have a wonderful group of songs here. I particularly enjoyed "Pass You By" and "We've Had Everything". Beautiful fiddle work and harmonies throughout. I hear some of the wonderful qualities I love so much in The Waterboys and Son Volt. I invite you to come on over and give a listen to my songs sometime. I've posted all ten tracks to my someday-to-be-released CD "East of Eden". It's a mixture of folk, country, and what I like to call "folk and roll". I'd be very open to any feedback you might have. Thanks for the fine tunes. Best of luck, Cap Wilhelm-Safian
Check out a track from my debut album "Prayers of a wayward son", I posted my version of "precious memories" from the album. The album is currently in New Orleans being mastered so stay tuned ! Album scheduled for release January 2010 !!!!!!!
On Saturday November 14th we have one hell of a line up for our monthly Americana Night @ The Grapes. WagonWheelMedia bring you four fantastic acts to Sheffield's premier musical venue for top live tunes, great beer and the best in alt-country records between bands. Joining us for this entertainment extravaganza will be the man described as "Manchester's answer to Gram Parsons”, Quiet Loner, the glorious harmonies of Liverpool's Sparkwood & 21, local favourites The Sicknotes, and to kick the night off we have a rare treat in the form of a solo/acoustic set from Roseville Grand frontman Neil McLarty. Doors open at 8pm and entry is just £4.

CHRISTOPHER REES
DEVIL'S BRIDGE
PRESS QUOTES
“Boasting a delicious 50's twang...an increasingly accomplished songwriter in full flight”. (Phil Alexander, Editor-in-chief. MOJO)
“Christopher Rees has honed his narrative chops to fine effect. All splash echo and rockabilly riffs...he makes room for fat dollops of bluegrass, country and rustic folk, including a stomping banjo straight from the Blue Ridge Mountains”. UNCUT ****
“A spit and sawdust holler that's as close to a Southern hell-fire preacher as you can get hailing from Cardiff. Very, very good”. MOJO (Live review from The Great Escape Festival)
Americana UK, Thanks for stopping in and for being our friend. Black Angel had its
best week of CD sales last week and in appreciation is offering free
MP3 downloads to our friends of all ten of our songs posted on our MySpace site.
