About me:

This is the Official MySpace Page for American Atheists, Inc.

We often hear that Americans have "freedom of religion." You have another freedom, though: freedom from religion and from paying heavy taxes so religious organizations and churchgoers in the United States can benefit from your tax payment!

American Atheists is an organization dedicated to the maintenance of that freedom. We defend the civil rights of Atheists, and call for the total, absolute separation of church and state. Our movement grew out of the historic Murray v. Curlett (1963) U.S. Supreme Court case filed by Atheist Madalyn Murray, which removed coercive, unison prayer and Bible verse recitation from the public schools.

Since then, American Atheists has labored in the courts, on the picket line, and in all areas of the public square to secure rights for Atheists and protect the "wall of separation" between government and religious institutions. We have three primary goals.

1. TO SECURE OUR FREEDOM FROM RELIGION

2. TO LABOR FOR, IN ALL LAWFUL WAYS, THE COMPLETE AND ABSOLUTE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

3. TO DEFEND THE CIVIL RIGHTS OF ATHEISTS.

Thank you for the addition. All of us need to fight the move toward rationality, in our own way, be it through scientific discourse, casual discussion or humor. We can all make a difference.

Thank you for adding me to. Nice to find right thinking people that share my interest. Being in Alabama I have no real friends who share my Atheist views just ones that try to change me. I just like you change for nobody and we will rise in power as our numbers grow from more people realizing that religion is a lie forced on people for nothing more than mind control and big profits.

It's Halloween, the moon is full and bright. Minions see what can't be seen, on any other night. Skeletons in the closets of Christian ghouls, grinning fundamentalists and freethinkers fighting duels. The ghost of the dark ages is rising from its tomb, bringing relics from the past, intelligence it wants to consume. In white shirts and mountain bikes, Mormons haunt the street. They knock on doors, to trick is their treat. Others claim to be sent by Jehovah, entering unhallowed grounds is their mistake. They run away screaming, dropping their copies of Watchtower and Awake! Many feel threatened that we only need science, logic and reason to appease us. They can't accept our denial of the existence of their Jesus. So on my night, we should show them that they're absurd. Since they believe in ghosts and goblins, make your voice heard. Dress up like a demon, and put on your most evil behavior. Knock on their door, and tell them that you're their savior.

It's an honor to have your organization as a friend.

Keep on spreading the good word of logic.

Thank you for the friendship. The older one gets, the more important the subject of seperation of church and state becomes.

    Hello

For those interested in animal rights/welfare fiction, please have a look to my novel “The Demon’s Trial”. The process of writing it is what made me a vegan, by the way.

Here is the link to the publisher:

    The Demon's Trial

You can of course find it in any bookshop, including Amazon.com, where you can see some reviews:

If you ever read it, I would be very interested in having your thoughts about it.

    Thank you
