Here is a great movie that includes Alex Jones, which is quite philosophical and a great joy to view. The movie will leave you thinking new about life, and there are some hints of politics and police state issues thrown in. :-) Synopsis is below.
A boy has a dream that he can float, but unless he holds on, he will drift away into the sky. Even when he is grown up, this idea recurs. After a strange accident, he walks through what may be a dream, flowing in and out of scenarios and encountering various characters. People he meets discuss science, philosophy and the life of dreaming and waking, and the protagonist gradually becomes alarmed that he cannot awake from this confusing dream.

Television
Too Close for Comfort, Taxi, Becker, Benson, and lots of sugary 80s sitcoms.
The History Channel, public access shows dealing with health, politics, or really out there, and what some would call outlandish topics.
I stopped watching TV around 10 years ago except for Becker, lol
Books
Catcher in the Rye, Death of a Salesman(All of Arthur Miller's plays are great), Seize the Day, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy...
Alex Jones! The classic rebel with his bullhorn, spreading truth to the American public each and every day. As far as non-political, probably my math professor in college, James Connelly. The man taught an awfully dull subject but was very inspiring through wit and humor, and loved his job so much

Anyone who knows me can tell you how politically addicted I am. Since I was 8 years old, I always had a thing for politics. The current events make the interest more intense, although society usually is better off when politics are their usual dull self. I like to think of myself as the angry young man Billy Joel once sung about in his work. Cheney in 1994 supports not going into Iraq, changes attitude in 2002..

The Bees' Needs Honey bees are mysteriously vanishing across the country, putting $15 billion worth of fruits, nuts and vegetables at risk. Do you like apples? How about cucumbers, broccoli or onions? Pumpkins, squash or carrots? Blueberries, avocados, almonds or cherries? These crops and many others can't grow without honey bees, and a mysterious die-off of these hard-working pollinators I MISS YOU <3
