UNFPA provides women's health care and promotes the rights of women around the world. It is the largest source of such assistance.
For over 30 years UNFPA programs have provided women with access to education and helped to prevent violence against women. Americans for UNFPA supports the work of UNFPA and believes the U.S. should lead efforts to promote the rights of women globally.

RECENT NEWS
Americans for UNFPA is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for the 2008 Student Award for the Health and Dignity of Women. The winner will join donors and activists on an expense-paid trip to Uganda and Rwanda to see first hand the field programs of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund.
The Student Award is open to all non-graduating undergraduate students with a keen interest in the health and rights of women, and global issues. The winner will be selected on the basis of two short essays, their resume/activity sheet, and a personal reference. While quality of writing is relevant (blogging is a requirement of the awardee), the content of the essays and evidence of interest are more important. Technical experience/coursework on global issues and high level writing are in no way prerequisites!
Please view the contest materials online at Americans for UNFPA, and read about 2007 winner Michael Maynard’s (University of Rhode Island) trip to Malawi.
This year’s Student Award will be open for applications until a deadline of March 10th. Please spread the word to as many interested students as you can. Thank you.
