American Songwriter is a Cable Access TV show produced by Rebecca Sanders and Scott Van Duyne at the
Mid-Peninsula Community Media Center
in Palo Alto. It features emerging Bay Area songwriters and their bands in an informal 30-minute music/interview format.
Now you can view any show on the myspace video player on this page, or at watch it at higher resolution formats on our
Blip TV Channel.
If you live in the Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, Atherton, Stanford or Menlo Park communities, watch it Wednesday and Friday nights on Comcast Channel 27 at 9 pm, or at these
other times!.
American Songwriter is currently being broadcast on Friday nights at 8:30 pm at Comcast Channel 15 in San Jose, California. Two cable stations that have contacted us and asked for the show (and I have obliged) are MYOU in Madison, Wisconsin and MYTV 26 in Fresno, California. American Songwriter will soon be shown in Mountain View, Cupertino and Sunnyvale on KMVT Channel 15.
It is my intention to blog on the PEGMEDIA phenomenon which is sweeping the world of community access television. PEGMEDIA runs a file sharing website for cable access producers and stations. We submit our shows and they are downloaded by PEG (Public Education and Government) stations all over the country. Currently, 243 downloads of American Songwriter have been effected by 57 different stations. Of the 250+ cable access shows that are available for download through PEGMEDIA, American Songwriter is the 23rd most downloaded show. Our show is being watched in places like Manchester, New Hampshire, Cedarburg, Wisconsin and Fulton, Georgia. This is amazing exposure! We are so grateful to Bob Nichols and to Link TV and to the Annenberg Foundation for making PEGMEDIA possible.
