About me: My name is Sunny, and I'm a American Walking Pony. Mummy luvs me a lot and I love her too cause she gives me those peppermint flavored Pony Nuggets and rubs my forehead.
People at my barn say I'm the most adorable Pony ever, Mummy says I just know i'm the most beautiful pony at the barn (actually it's the whole world ~_^!). I'm really only
12yrs old but the silly site wont let me put my real age!
The American Walking Pony was created from many years of experimental crossbreeding to produce a large pony of Arabian type and smooth saddle gaits. This was finally achieved by crossing the Tennessee Walking Horse and the Welsh Pony. The Tennesse Walking Horse for its smooth saddle gait and Welsh Pony for its beautiful head and neck. The American Walking Pony Registry was established in 1968 and ponies of this cross with various bloodlines were accepted for registration. The American Walking Pony has been featured in various magazines, books and many horse lovers all over have expressed interest in purchasing breeding stock. The American Walking Pony is seven gaited these unique gaits being the Pleasure Walk, the Merry Walk, and the Canter. This pony is a versatile breed and can trot well and jump, which was inherited from the Welsh Pony. Currently there is only about 300 known to exsist world wide, with barely a third of that in the United States.
Who I'd like to meet: Mummys friends, and anyone that will give me White Peaches or Watermellon! And scratches on my withers ....yup!
