ACTORS*********************************************************************************************************************************
America Undiscovered is an ideal avenue for aspiring actors and actresses as well as those with some acting work in their portfolio. This event will allow talent of all backgrounds the opportunity to perform their monologue for the public and most importantly for top industry professionals. Participants in all divisions should have solid memorization skills, ambitious drive, an outgoing personality and overall strong sense of stage presence. Open to actors of all experience levels and types. Actors can range in looks, age, sex, and nationality, as they are utilized to fill varying parts in commercials, videos, television shows, and movies. Younger actors must be able to perform without the parent or legal guardian directly present. Actors should have a 1 minute monologue prepared for the child and teen divisions and a 2 minute monologue prepared for the adult division. Actors will be judged on presentation, memorization, and being able to portray the role with conviction. The Actor Competition is broken down into three age divisions... Child ages 5-12 years old, Teens ages 13-17 years old, Adults ages 18 and older.*********************************************************************************************************************************
BANDS**********************************************************************************************************************************
America Undiscovered's band category is designed to showcase aspiring, unsigned bands to the public and to top industry professionals looking and capable of making tomorrow's music superstars. Song MUST be performed live, no lip-syncing or track musical accompaniment will be permitted. The piece of work you choose to perform live can be an original piece or a cover song. Bands can range the spectrum from Pop to Rock, R&B to Gospel, Jazz to Hip Hop and every genre in between. Bands should have a 2 minute song prepared to perform competition weekend. Groups will be judged on skill, presentation, marketability, and entertainment value. The Band category is open to groups ages 13 and older.***********************************************************************************************************************************
SINGERS**********************************************************************************************************************************
America Undiscovered’s Vocalist category is designed to individually showcase aspiring, unsigned singers to top
industry professionals looking and capable of making tomorrow's music superstars. A capella or with musical
accompaniment, the piece of work you choose to perform live can range in genre from jazz, pop, rock, gospel,
hip-hop, r&b, and every style in between.
Song MUST be performed live, no lip syncing will be allowed. Music must be on a cassette tape or cd if choosing to
use accompaniment. Vocalist may choose to perform an exsisting song or to perform an original piece. Age
appropiate music should be selected for children and teens. Contestants should come prepared with a two minute
song/performance. Contestants in the vocalist category will be judged on skill, presentation, clarity, and
marketability.
This category is open to men, women and groups and broken into three age divisions:
Child ages 5 to 12 years old
Teen ages 13-17 years old
Adult ages 18 and over*************************************************************************************************************************************
DANCERS****************************************************************************************************************************
America Undiscovered’s Dancer category is open to men, women and teens, 13 years old and over. Being a dancer applies to anyone gifted enough with rhythm, style, & grace.
Talent can range from tap to jazz, to ballet, and all styles in between. Dancers should be
able to learn a simple routine quickly and have a strong sense of stage
presence. Dancers should come prepared with a 2 minute routine and musical accompaniment on cd. Stage presence, ability, technique, and over all entertainment value will be judged. There are no training requirements to compete in the dancer category. You will not be judged on whether you are trained or untrained.
Open in one division to men, women, and teens 13 and older.********************************************************************************************************************************
COMEDIANS*****************************************************************************************************************************
Do you have a knack for making people laugh? Participants in America Undiscovered’s Comics Category are given the
opportunity to gain exposure by performing their routine in front of a live audience and top industry professionals from around the country.
Material can not include anything which could be deemed offensive or obscene in any way including vulgar language,
sexual representations, or racially slanderous statements. All material must be PG or PG 13. This category will also be open to prop comics. Participants are to have a 2 minute rutine prepared. Comedians should posess a strong sense of stage presence, and skills in creative writing. The performance will be judged on over all entertainment value, presentation, and quality of material.
The Comics Category is open to Adults 18 and over performing Clean, Original Material**********************************************************************************************************************************
MODELS************************************************************************************************************************************
Whether you are looking to gain a modeling contract, get booked for a modeling job, gain representation by an agency, learn more about the modeling or entertainment industry, or just increase your exposure, this event offers models of all types a unique opportunity. America Undiscovered places aspiring and slightly experienced models with opportunities to be seen by industry professionals from across the country, as well as gaining public exposure.
Broken into the following categories:
High Fashion
High Fashion (13 to 25 years old)
Promotional
Promotional (Female only, ages 18 and over)
Commercial Print
Child Commercial Print (5 to 12 years old)
Teen Commercial Print (13 to 17 years old)
Young Adult Commercial Print (18 to 29 year old)
Sophisticate (30 years old and over)
Plus Size (Females only, ages 18 to 35)
High Fashion Models- Ages 13-25, slim or well built, with female heights ranging between 5’7” and 6’0” and male
heights between 5’10” and 6’2”: High Fashion models are males and females who work the runway and promote
clothes, accessories, and beauty products in magazines, newspapers, and other print media. Because the items they
promote are intended to make the customer feel attractive, most fashion models are highly attractive, unique and
toned. Most supermodels are considered high fashion models. Models in this category are judged on stage once in
casual outfit, once in fashion outfit, and once in evening wear. They will be judged on appearance, confidence, walk
and marketability.
Promotional Models- Females ages 18 and over. Promotional models are considered “live” modeling of any variety of
products, or companies, at events such as trade shows, conventions, or instore demonstrations. Many top models
have started their careers as top models or spokes models. This is a female only category. Models will be judged
once in swimsuit and once in casual outfit. They will be judged on appearance, confidence, walk, and marketability.
Models in this category will also be judged on a 30 second introduction.
Commercial Print Models- These models are generally featured in photo advertising and television commercials.
These models can represent a wide variety of products and services, and therefore models can be very diverse
in ages and appearance. Print models will be judged 50% on photogenic (3 portfolio shots must be submitted for this
phase) and 50% on stage presentation in casual wear.*************************************************************************************************************************************
