Hey - we're inviting you to join us for our fundraiser/party on Saturday March 29th @ 9pm.
We'll be helping the Emergency services staff (nurses, doctors, medics, techs) from Mary Greeley Medical Center raise money for two awesome local Iowa programs for kids and families. This great group of people help their communities every day - so, here's our chance to support them and help them out!
Join us at The Venue in Boone, Iowa.
There's plenty of you and all your friends. We'll have prizes to give away all night. Help us spread the word! It's for a good cause and will be one heck of a kick butt party!
Doors open at 9pm. Donations accepted at the door, in lieu of cover charge!
Join the Generation Iowa Commission for an open forum meeting at Iowa State University on THIS FRIDAY, February 8 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. All ISU students and area young professionals are welcome to join the event and tell the commission what they should be recommending to make the state more attractive for young people.
Featuring Debra Marquart on vocals, Peter Manesis on guitar and Anthony Stevens on percussion; the Bone People perform a unique form of R&B they call jazz poetry. Moving seamlessly from storytelling to spoken word to acoustic and tribal song, this group will entertain you like few others. Playing rarely, the Bone People are always a treat to hear and are definitely an Iowa favorite. Their performance will be Friday, March 30 at 7 pm. Admission is $5.

A custom wine tour for the Octagon Center for the Arts.
Spend a leisurely day exploring the art of winemaking in Iowa! Sample the wines, learn from the masters, and discover quality vintages that rival California and France!
Vintage: Iowa
At each stop of this custom wine tour, we will visit the vineyards, meet the winemakers, and sample wines made from new hybrid variety vines bred to survive Iowa winters. Wines will range from dry and off-dry to semi-sweet and sweet. We'll taste them all and shop for wines and wine gifts in interesting shops.
Leaving Ames at 8 am, we'll visit these places:
• Sutliff Cider Company, Lisbon
• Cherry Creek Vineyards, Newton
• Jasper Winery, Newton
• Sugar Grove Winery, Newton
• Dinner with wine served in restored Grange Hall at Sugar Grove Winery
We'll travel in a luxury coach with 25% more legroom for every passenger and enormous luggage bays, so you can bring home as many souvenirs as you wish.
Dinner will feature wonderful food served with two Sugar Grove wines. When we return to Ames about 8 pm, we'll have a new appreciation for Iowa wines and the enterprising, innovative folks who are bringing them to life!
