About Associazione Musicale Gruppo Vocale Novecento
BIOGRAFIA:
Nato nel settembre 2003 il Gruppo Vocale Novecento vuole essere un ensemble vocale formato da quindici elementi, di età compresa tra i 18 e i 32 anni, il cui repertorio si fonda sulla polifonia rinascimentale. La particolarità del Gruppo Vocale è quella di essere uno dei pochi cori in Italia ad affrontare tale repertorio secondo la sua prassi originaria: infatti il coro è composto solo da voci maschili. Il G.V. Novecento ha affrontato, nella sua pur breve esistenza, svariati autori che vanno dagli anonimi gregoriani ai polifonisti come Da Victoria, Palestrina e Gallus, fino al barocco Lotti. Nei suoi cinque anni di vita il coro si è aggiudicato il ‘Premio speciale per l’interpretazione di un brano di carattere sacro al 3° Festival della Coralità Veneta,nell’ambito del VI Concorso Nazionale di Canto Corale “Città di Zagarolo”il premio speciale “Domenico Ceri” per la migliore esecuzione del brano rinascimentale, per l’occasione: “Domine Jesu Christe” dall’ “Officum defunctorum” di Tomas Louis De Victoria, e infine la fascia di distinzione al 5°festival della coralità veneta. . Tra le recenti partecipazioni musicali si è visto il coro impegnato alla IV edizione del Festival della musica corale “Nella città dei Gremi”, svoltosi nel settembre 2007 a Sassari e inoltre il G. V. Novecento ha partecipato al Gran Premio Corale “Francesco Marcacci” tenutosi a Montorio al Vomàno (Teramo) nel mese di dicembre 2007 riscuotendo numerosi consensi per i brani presentati. Sempre nello stesso mese il coro diventa Associazione Musicale “Gruppo Vocale Novecento” con al suo interno due sezioni, una maschile e una femminile, autonome tra loro, ma che in molteplici occasioni - sia in ambito concorsuale che di manifestazioni canore – si uniscono per regalare emozioni. Questo gruppo di amici accomunati dalla passione per la musica nella sua forma più espressiva com’è quella del canto, si prefigge di manifestare sentimenti e emozioni che trovano in quest’arte il respiro che li libera e li rende capaci di arrivare all’anima…

IL MAESTRO:
Il Direttore Maurizio Sacquegna Nasce a Soave il 06/11/1984, studia organo dal 1999 inizialmente col maestro Stefano Canazza; cantore del Gruppo Vocale PES diretto dal maestro Claudio Ferro dal 1999 al 2005 con il quale ha seguito corsi di alfabetizzazione musicale e vocalità. Ha partecipato e partecipa tuttora ai corsi di vocalità funzionale organizzati dall'A.S.A.C. e tenuti dal maestro Luciano Borin; dal 2001 è direttore del Coro Piccola Baita di San Bonifacio. Dopo gli studi artistici al Liceo Umberto Boccioni di Verona , si è iscritto alla facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia dell'Università degli studi di Padova dove segue il corso di "Storia e tutela dei beni musicali". Dal 2003 è direttore del Gruppo Vocale Novecento, nel 2005 fonda la sezione femminile del Gruppo Vocale Novecento e dal 2007 è direttore del coro del liceo Antonio Maria Roveggio di Cologna Veneta.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born in September 2003 the gruppo vocale Novecento wants to be a vocal ensemble formed by fifteen elements aged among the 18 and the 32 years old. Choir's repertoire is based on the Renaissance polyphony. The Vocal Group is very particular because is one of the few choirs in Italy approaching such repertoire according to its native execution: infact the Choir is composed only by male voices. The G.V. Novecento, even though in its short life, performed different authors: from the anonymous Gregorians to the polifonistis as de Victoria, Palestrina and Gallus, up to the Baroque Lotti. In five years of life the Choir has been awarded with: the 'special Prize for the interpretation of a sacred character piece' during the 3° Festival della Coralità Veneta; "the special prize "Domenico Ceri" for the best execution of the Renaissance piece of Tomas Louis de Victoria "Domine Jesu Christe” from Officium defunctorum" during the National Choral Competition "Città di Zagarolo”; the band of honour during the “5° festival della Coralità Veneta”
Recently the Choir has performed in the IV edition of the Festival of the choral music "Nella città dei Gremi", on September 2007 in Sassari and besides it has participated in the Gran Reward Choral "Francesco Marcacci" in Montorio al Vomàno (Teramo) on December 2007 receiving many agreements for the presented pieces.
On December 2007 the Choir becomes Musical Association "Gruppo Vocale Novecento" with two autonomous sections, male and female, even if in many occasions they sing together for giving emotions.
The aim of this group of friends jonted by passion for music in its more expressive form, the chant, is to give free and able to touch soul feelings and emotions, through this art…

MAURIZIO SACQUEGNA:
The Conductor Maurizio Sacquegna is Born in Soave November 6th1984, since 1999 has studied organ initially with the teacher Stefano Canazza; from 1999 to 2005 he was chorister of the Vocal Group PES directed by the teacher Claudio Ferro, with whom he has attended courses of musical familiarisation and vocalism.
He has participated and is still participating to the courses of functional vocalism organized by the regional association ASAC and held by teacher Luciano Borin.
From 2001 he is conductor of the Choir “Piccola Baita” of San Bonifacio.
After the artistic studies in the High school Umberto Boccioni in Verona, he is student to the faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the university of the studies in Padua, course of "History and conservation of the musical goods."
From 2003 he is Conductor of the Gruppo Vocale Novecento, in 2005 he founds the female section and from 2007 he is Conductor of the choir of the High School Antonio Maria Roveggio of Cologna Veneta.
