David Habbin from England,
Tsakane Valentine from South Africa, Lucy van Gasse from England and Bruno Santino from Brazil
Amici Forever with tenor David Habbin, soprano Tsakane Valentine, baritone Bruno Santino, and soprano Lucy van Gasse, is the internationally acclaimed classical pop crossover group that have enchanted people from around the world with their audience pleasing, inspiring and unique sound from the beginning when the group was formed in 2002.
They scored phenomenal success with their debut album, "The Opera Band", which sold in excess of one million albums worldwide, took Europe by storm and leant a fresh, sophisticated appearance, giving a young perspective to and putting a brand-new spin on a centuries-old musical tradition: the class and glamour of opera meets the height of pop cool. The CD which included Amici’s rendition of the classic "Unchained Melody" - Senza Catene as well as classic stalwarts such as Nessun dorma, has been a mainstay of the Billboard classical crossover chart ever since its release in January 2004 and has gone triple platinum in New Zealand, double platinum in Australia, gold in the UK and remained in the Top 10 of the UK Classical Charts for a staggering 18 months and has got the group a Classical Brit Award nomination.
Their second album "Defined" released earlier this year has already been certified gold in Australia and was a feature in the ARIA Top 10 Album charts, reaching 4 after debuting at 10 the week of release.
In June of 2004, 70,000 people saw Amici forever perform the official BBC Sport theme - "Olympia: Eternal Flame" for the very first time in The Mall to close the Olympic Torch Ceremony. This theme was used throughout the entire BBC SPORT coverage of The Olympics.
They have performed in the Classical Brit Awards in London, were invited by the Queen to sing at the Royal Albert Hall for the Festival of Remembrance, performed in front of 500 million viewers at the Champion' League final at Old Trafford, supported Dame Shirley Bassey on her 50th anniversary stadium tour, sang for Prince Harry at Berkshire's Prince's Polo and, if that was not enough, their album was certified gold in the UK. Amici forever have been honoured to be the act chosen to perform at the World Premiere Party of the film, Phantom of the Opera for 1800 VIP and celebrity guests including Andrew Lloyd Webber and the cast of the movie.
The group has just come off of two amazingly received tours, one in Australia and New Zealand, and the other in the UK.
Amici Forever was proud to perform on the live broadcast of the Miss World 2006 finals on Saturday, 30 September, 2006! This show was broadcast to over 2.5 billion people worldwide.
