Es mag viele Songs mit den Worten „A Million Miles“ geben. Rory Gallagher und so einige andere Künstler haben sich schon ihre Gedanken zu der großen Anzahl von Meilen gemacht. Doch nur eine Band hat es sich zum Ziel gemacht, diesen Weg wirklich zu gehen - A MILLION MILES aus Hamburg.

Bereits mit jeweils anderen lokalen Bands aktiv gewesen, treffen sich im Jahr 2005 die Gitarristen Shi und Willo, Bassist Finbar und damaliger Drummer Philipp in einem Proberaum in Hamburg und gründen daraufhin A MILLION MILES. Unermüdlich suchen sie fortan nach einem Sänger, der die Band endlich komplettiert - bis schließlich Mona Anfang 2008 den Proberaum betritt. Schnell wird allen klar - sie ist die einzig Richtige für diesen Job! Ob Shouts, emotionaler Gesang oder das selbstsichere Auftreten vor den begeisterten Metal-Fans - Mona überzeugt in kürzester Zeit nicht nur ihre Bandkollegen, sondern auch das Publikum, das zu den zahlreichen Shows in Hamburg und ganz Norddeutschland aufschlägt - ausverkaufte Clubs sind keine Seltenheit! Ihre Beliebtheit und Talente können die fünf Hamburger auch im deutschlandweiten Bandwettbewerb „Local Heroes“ unter Beweis stellen, bei dem sie sich bis ins Finale rocken! Inzwischen spielen A MILLION MILES größere Shows, unter anderem ergattern sie 2009 einen begehrten Platz als Supportband für Biohazard .

Die Aufnahmen ihrer ersten EP „Left“ im Frühjahr 2009 gestaltet sich als perfekter Zeitpunkt, ihrer Kreativität freien Lauf zu lassen und diese auf Band festzuhalten – das Ergebnis ist eine Platte, die den Zuhörer überwältigt und in ihren Bann zieht!

Im Sommer 2009 dann der Wechsel im Line-Up: Sahin wird Philipps ehrwürdiger Nachfolger an den Drums. Eine neue Ära beginnt - A MILLION MILES sind bereit, sich wieder den Fans zu präsentieren.

Harte Gitarrenriffs, progressiver Sound, ein fetter Bass, energiegeladene Drums und vor allem diese unverwechselbare Stimme - A MILLION MILES sind ein wahrer MEILENstein im Stoner Metal. Mit sowohl ruhigen Momenten, aber auch hart rockenden Parts in ihren Songs, bei denen die fünf Musiker all ihre Passion zum Metal zum Ausdruck bringen, fesseln sie den Zuhörer und verschaffen einem das ganz besondere Musikerlebnis.

Es braucht keine Millionen Meilen, um diese Band zu entdecken. A MILLION MILES sind hier und jetzt. Und sie sind ready to rock.

There may be many songs containing these words, “A Million Miles”. Rory Gallagher and plenty of other artists have dealt with this great distance. But only one band has made it their goal to actually go all the way – A MILLION MILES from Hamburg.

After having played in several other local bands, guitarists Shi and Willow, bassist Finbar and former drummer Philipp met in a rehearsal space in Hamburg in the year 2005 and founded A MILLION MILES. Now they were tirelessly searching for a singer to complete the band – until finally Mona entered their rehearsal room in early 2008. Everyone knew immediately: She’s exactly the right one for this job! Be it shouts, emotional vocals or her confident appearance in front of enthusiastic Metal fans – Mona does not only quickly convince her fellow band members but also the crowds turning up to their numerous shows in Hamburg and all across Northern Germany – sold out clubs are no rarity!

They also gave proof of their popularity and talent at the nationwide band contest “Local Heroes” where they rocked their way into the final round. Meanwhile A MILLION MILES play bigger shows; among others they got the popular slot as a support band for Biohazard in 2009.

The recordings for their first EP “Left” became the perfect time to set their creativity free and record it on tape. The result is a record which overwhelms and immediately captivates the listener.

In the summer of 2009 came a change in the line up: Sahin becomes Philipp’s venerable successor on the drums. A new era begins - A MILLION MILES are back and ready to present themselves to their fans.
