A stranger was seated next to a little black girl on the airplane when
the stranger turned to her and said, "Let's talk. I've heard

The little girl, who had just opened her coloring book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger, "What would you like
to talk about?" "Oh, I don't know," said the stranger.

"OK", she said. 'That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you
a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff -grass -. Yet a deer

flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do
you suppose that is?" The stranger, visibly surprised by the little
girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea."
To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to
discuss President Barak Obama... when you don't know shit?"

Did you know that students who are retained at least once in grades 1-8 are four times more likely to drop out of school?
If you have a young child who is not doing so well in school, ask about service learning. Find out about enrichment programs. Find out how you can work to bring your child to grade level. do not agree with retention. Oftentimes, a child may be six to eight months behind, which does not constitute a year.
Did you know that in California, they build their prison industrial complexes based on the number of students who are at risk in third grade? This is because early at risk identifiers suggest that these are the students who will not graduate, and California as well as other states are preparing homes for our children.
