Similar as the sea enchants the sun hungry masses at its shores, Amir manages to fascinate the masses with his warm, groovy and still technoid House-sound. Hidden behind his pseudonym Amir [ad Fontes] is the solo-project of Rimah Khalouf, who might be known to some as member and producer of the Groove Rebels. Now, after an uncountable amount of sets, writing his diploma and many travels, Amir and his sound have grown and matured.
Amir’s productions would range within the warm deep Tech-House variations but are also to be understood as a return to the beginnings of a percussive and clubby Trance/Techno stream, which came up in the mid 90s. This was the time Amir himself started to get to know and love electronic music in smallish clubs in the region. Today his ambition is to develop his musical ideas and inspire his listeners with an unobtrusive depth and energy in his music.
Now in 2008 and 1 year after the start of his Amir-project many productions have been released on labels such as BigCityBeats Techno and Suchtreflex (owned by his Buddies Piemont from Hamburg). His “Bodymusic” series is coming near an end and received great support throughout the international scene. The Bodymusics One til Five received supports by Karotte, Toni Rios, Thomilla, Martin Landsky and Microfunk; Josh Wink charted “Amir’s Lovlee Dae Edit” and even Booka Shade licensed his first German Club Charts number 1 hit “Virtual Nature” for their Dj-Kicks compilation. Recognition is growing, production level is still rising and after having seen Amir in action no one will doubt who the brightest star on the groovy house sky will be.
