Setting up the odds against one's self is an almost sure-fire way to disaster. This is not the case with A Modern Love Story. A group of childhood friends who have forged their way through several severe cases of mishap and misfortune to create some of the most immense songs heard in a genre full of blatant copy bands.
The "story" starts out with high school friends playing in a local band in Wisconsin. The band was the only thing musically inclined within almost one hundred miles. Living in a town with no music venues, no music stores or even a local theatre, the band would pay hundreds of dollars of their own money to rent convention halls in hotels to host shows with no guarantee people would even come. And to their amazement, people came. Some of the bands first shows would host 250+ kids, jumping, rocking out to every song. A Modern Love Story, or "AMLS", to friends and fans, knew they were on to something big. The band soon moved to Chicago in mid 2004 to expand their fan base and have their music heard in a actual scene. The band quickly started writing new material to demo and record and soon put out 2005's " Our Time to Shine EP' which was self-produced in their basement.
The band quickly started playing shows in Chicago and gained large amounts of notoriety for their lives shows. "AMLS is the Chuck Norris of Rock. With a show that is a cant miss and their blend of pop and hardcore, they are sure to roundhouse kick their way into your heart" MP SHOWS After numerous weekend warrior stints and dozens and dozens of local shows, the band went on their first ever Midwest/East Coast DIY tour spanning a dozen states over two and half weeks. Early 2006 approached and the band took several months off to write and record their self-titled EP. This EP showcased the bands inventive blend of pop/rock and hardcore. Heavy, but melodic with irresistible to sing along choruses. The band new this was it, they took all their belongings and sold them in a garage sale, left their jobs and hit the road full-time. Armed an impressive array of dates spanning the entire Midwest/southeast portion of the nation, they played their hearts out to nearly anyone who would listen to them. The band seemed to be living their dream, until a drunk driver in northern Florida hit their trailer and van wreaking nearly everything and almost killing the members of A Modern Love Story.
After the accident, the band was forced to call off the tour and head up north with what little they had left. This only fueled the fire for A Modern Love Story. Not to let anything get them down, the band quickly went in with Producer Nick Radavanovic of Acceptance(Columbia Records), to record 3 new songs; each one telling a story in themselves. A Modern Love Story is band with determination. Whether it is talking and connecting with each and every single person at shows or creating unique ways of getting people to take notice to A Modern Love Story. With a "We know what we want and we won't stop" attitude, A Modern Love Story will overcome any obstacles and are well on their way to becoming your new favorite band.
Besides kicking ass, A Modern Love Story has:
-Played over 200+ shows including numerous weekend warriors and two DIY tours spanning a total of 19 states.

Seen you guys for the first time last night! All I have to say is that with such a small crowd you put on a great show! You have made a new fan. Best of luck on tour!
I owe George one cigarette. Good luck on tour guys! A good read is The Alphabet of Manliness by Maddox for the tour. It's probably the best thing I own and I think everyone should have one sitting by their bed at night. A great read for sitting in the back of a van for a long time (like your upcoming 14 hour drive). Haha--take it easy! Peace -kyle
