A Zen master named Gisan asked a young student to bring him a pail of water to cool his bath.
The student brought the water and, after cooling the bath, threw on to the ground the little that was left over.
"You dunce!" the master scolded him. "Why didn't you give the rest of the water to the plants? What right have you to waste even a drop of water in this temple?"
The young student attained Zen in that instant. He changed his name to Tekisui, which means 'a drop of water'.

Just to say that I am organising (with help from Clive Briscoe of Amnesty International in Leeds), an amnesty international gig consisting of poetry, stand up comedy and other performance pieces. The event will take place on Monday 7th dec, Boar Lane, Leeds and it's 7pm for 7.30pm start. *They are attacking the monks and nuns without mercy; they use all violent means. Wherever you are, please help. They said if the monks and nuns are hard headed, they will kill them. There are so many gangsters. Policemen are everywhere on the monastery ground. There is no door that has not been smashed down. Please help the 400 monks and nuns. Blood has shed in Bat Nha. The rain, tears, and blood are shedding in Bao Loc. They have blocked the only path into the monastery. Policemen and different levels of the government are involved. This is a call for help from a monk at Bat Nha.

Please inform the public, the news agencies, human rights group, or anyone who can influence this tragedy, especially if they are there right now in Vietnam.
