Amnesty International is an organisation set to defend and protect the human rights of the individual, independant of government, religion, ideology or economic interests.
For any human rights campaign, you can write to your local representative. For U.K. citizens "Write to them" will help you find and send an email to your MP or local councillors.

Europe's role in torture
You've probably heard about the rendition fiasco; European governments turning a blind eye to the US secret service's using their airports to fly numerous men to Egypt, Syria and Guantanamo bay, where they face torture, unfair trial and detainment without charge. Amongst the European countries implicated in allowing these rendition flights to happen are EU members Germany, Italy, Sweden and the UK. Two million civilians have been forced to flee their homes and over 200,000 remain in refugee camps in Chad
The International Criminal Court (ICC) is investigating crimes in Darfur. It now recognizes serious crimes of violence against women as crimes against humanity.
Yet authorities in Sudan have publicly refused to cooperate with the ICC or bring those responsible to justice before national courts.
