YACHT is an indie electronic duo founded by musician, remixer, and performance artist Jona Bechtolt of Portland, Oregon. YACHT began as a solo project for Bechtolt in 2002. He released three albums prior to singer Claire L. Evans becaming a permanent member in 2008. Their first album as a duo was 2009's See Mystery Lights, released on DFA Records. YACHT also describes themselves as a belief system and a genre- and media-spanning life project. Their live shows, which include touring members Jeffrey Brodsky and Bobby Birdman, incorporate PowerPoint presentations, audience Q&A sessions, and projected videos. YACHT has toured with Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Architecture in Helsinki, and DFA label-mates LCD Soundsystem.
