AMA was started in the fall of 2006 by Gordy Buchanan and Anthony Hilb while attending Indiana University. Anthony had an electric drum set and the two immediately started writing songs. After about a week Gordy recruited friend Kyle Ritter to start playing bass with them and they recorded their first demo at Russian recording in Nashville, Indiana. Around spring of 2007 Dylan Yeager was recruited by Kyle and Gordy, he switched to bass, and Kyle took over lead guitar. The 4 played shows non stop for a little over a year. They played over 80 shows while attending school and working part time jobs. They released their first EP, titled "Turning Back the Clock" on September 8, 2007 (recorded with Chris Beaven). The following they had was pretty impressive for a local band. In the fall of 2008 Kyle decided he wanted to focus more on school, work and his future career as an EMT. Dylan played in some heavier bands then played a show with Gordy and Anthony on guitar. They also recorded some of their best material with John Terzino, and it was a great experience for them.
After living together they decided to go their separate ways. Currently Kyle is focused on school and work, Anthony is busy with school, work, playing gigs and recording with other musicians as a freelance drummer, Gordy is busy with school, work, and writing songs for his solo project (the GBP), and Dylan is busy working and playing guitar and bass with other musicians.
