'É tudo boca boca boca boca' (C. Drummond de Andrade).
'Boca' is the result of a long term friendship and music... between Geórgia Dias, Cajan Witmer, Mischa Kool, Thomas Gerretsen, and recently Alain Eskinasi.
Under many band names and circumstances we managed to keep on playing together.
'Boca' is the result of the music we set on 'O amor natural' the erotic poems of C. Drummond de Andrade.
August Willemse translated the poems into the Dutch language, Heddy Honigmann into film, and Boca translated them into Brazilian music.
I already had Drummond's book, but it really was Heddy Honigmann's documentaire on the same book that inspired me to go ahead with this project:
translating the wonderful poetry of the Brazilian poet Carlos Drummond de Andrade into music. With a fantastic team on board it is a joy to realize the project I long ago dreamed of.
The music, which I hope you are enjoying right now, follows strictly the rhythm of the poems in it's original language, Portuguese,
I believe our music translates the beauty and sensuality of the poems.
I also want to thank the most wonderful photographer Enrico Fantoni,
designer Florencia Gutman and also Patricia Hayward for their support.
