Amor Sin Fronteras

About me:

Amor Sin Fronteras began 5 years ago and aims to create safe spaces that celebrate respect and politicize the Latin@ LGBTQ community. We honor OUR many countries of origin, many languages, youth and elders, families, allies, communities, sexualities and gender identities and expressions. Over the years, the event has grown by over 600% in both quality and scope. Amor Sin Fronteras features the creative talent through dance, live music, poetry, theatrical interpretations and a message of hope for those most marginalized.

Amor Sin Fronteras has an annual event that is held at Dolores Park which serves not only the diversity of Latino nations but the spectrum of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and everything in between and beyond. We are able to reach a diversity of identities because we are 100% driven on donations and demand. Not only serving an event with art, food, performances and music, we also collaborate with health centers and community resources to inform, empower and enrich ourselves with celebrating how fabulous we can be.

Our vision is to provide a space for the diversity of the Latina/o community as well as the LGBT community. We do not include alcohol or smoking campaigns, nor permit the selling of these items at our event. Our vision is that the need and demand of creating a community space be driven and funded by the community. These funds come directly from what we as a community have earned and felt compelled to share in the responsibility of making a contribution to the collective “WE.”
