AmpHead Music is proud to announce that we have just signed an international distribution deal with Indigenous record label, Payback Records.
Indigenous Essendon AFL footballer Nathan Lovett-Murray’s record label,Payback Records, is a 100% Indigenous-owned record label which aims to give young Indigenous people a voice though hip–hop.
“We have started a movement, or a revolution if you like, so our young Victorian Kooris can stand up and let their music be heard around the world", says Nathan Lovett-Murray.
See below for information about Payback Record's first release, Mr Morgz, Life On The Run CD/DVD.
Swish AmpHead Pty Ltd in association with parent company, The Orchard, and GMM Grammy, the biggest record label in Thailand, would like to announce their international partnership beginning from July 2009.
For those of you that don’t know, GMM Grammy owns 70% of Thai music and dominates the entertainment scene in Thailand, featuring major Thai artists, particularly in Pop and Country.
An alliance of these two gigantic enterprises will enhance both the music industries in Australia and Thailand. It is an exciting time for both companies lead by Amphead CEO Gary Mackenzie and GMM Grammy’s COO Krijj Thomas, beginning with GMM Grammy physical and digital distribution, music licensing and touring some of Thailand’s most well know artists.
Taken from the critically-acclaimed debut EP, Come Back Romance, All Is Forgiven, which is available now.
“… blown away by the simple, heartfelt poetry of this song." – Single Of The Week, July 15 – Beat Magazine
“Most intriguing though, is the final track, ‘All My Friends’, which manages to begin resembling a dark Nick Cave piano ballad and winds up sounding like a drunken Pogues sing-a-long." – Sydney Morning Herald.

After nearly a year with their heads buried in sonic experimentation, electronic production duo Editor have emerged with their debut release Interview Techniques out through Omelette Records (Spoonbill’s label).
This full length album is heavily rooted in the style of dubstep yet encompasses aspects of dub, minimal electro, reggae, hip hop and other broken beat styles. The overall result is a journey through the sonic spectrum with interweaving twists and turns tied together by richly textured channels of groove, ultra slick production and discerning musicianship throughout.
Payback Records’ first release comes from Corinthian Morgan aka Mr Morgz who started writing and rapping in 2001 while incarcerated as a way to stay motivated.
Last year, he supported 50 Cent on his 2008 Australian tour and will be supporting The Game in August ’09. The album features production from Outlawz (2PAC) and appearances from Yung Warriors, Alter Egoz & DJ Deadly.
Fresh from the streets of Melbourne comes Eloquor, whose mission is to stamp his name on the Australian hip hop scene with his articulate and powerful story telling brand of hip hop. Donny Pelsoczy aka Eloquor - a Latin word meaning ‘to express oneself’, pronounced ‘ell-o-core’ – has arrived with his debut album Move Up.
King Hits features Pegz, Billy Bunks, Blades, Eloquor & Dave Hedgecock. Bouncer consists of two MCs: Bugzie, Merv DaPerv and former Past to Present group member, male vocalist Leighton Hema.
WYATT MOSS-WELLINGTON - THE SUPERMARKET & THE TURNCOAT LP
Debut solo album from progressive folk songwriter, Wyatt Moss-Wellington with intricate guitarwork, arrestingly unique vocal performances, humanistic narratives, confessionals, humour and an experimental edge.
"Most guitar-strumming singer-songwriters are dull, and the rest tend to sound relentlessly like themselves, as though personal style outweighs universal substance. Wyatt Moss-Wellington turns that on its head, challenging preconceptions of song structure, guitar and vocal techniques, subject matter and stylistic homogeneity. Moss-Wellington makes most of his peers sound like they have never fully considered the breadth of options open to them. This is an auspicious debut." – Sydney Morning Herald.
