Sounds Like
charged electrical particles traveling in a vacuum tube
some members of the durham nc "bull city" usenet group went for a hike one january day near the hollow rock bridge on erwin road. when they returned, they felt the urge to play electric guitars and drums.
much like their forebearers from the same community (the hollow rock string band and the red clay ramblers) they decided to hold regular jams but electrified and with much wild abandon. the jams evolved into the study of the marquee moon lp by television (celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2007). the plan was set: the still un-named combo would meet every sunday to rehearse the marquee moon lp. what's next in 2008 or 2009? the rolling stones' rock and roll circus? metal machine music? frampton comes alive? the who sell out? stay tuned.
a mini-debut of sorts occurred on friday march 30th in durham at the broad st. cafe as ADFAR commandeered the stage of crispy's killer filler and played just the first 3 songs of marquee moon. with just that little taste, hopefully you'll stick with them long enough to want more this autumn. keep watching this space.
