Alliance Wakeboard (uk)'s Blurbs |
About me:
Wow, isnt the 21st century crazy! we've got all sorts of technological breakthroughs going on, culminating in a world-wide second world. Well as we didn't want to be left back, Alliance UK thought its only fit that we have a MySpace page, so thank you for gracing us with your presence.
We make seriously good friends, so come along to our party and say hello.
..

..
It’s that time once again, where you can run down to your local wake shop and pick up the latest copy of Alliance Magazine as issue 2009.4 is in the stores today!
In this issue we have gone all out on variety, with a healthy mix of wakeboarding, wakeskating, boys, girls, contests and lifestyle… and a bit of high-class acrobatics for good measure! It all kicks off with newly crowned British Cable Champion and cover-shot virgin, CK Koester, with a beautifully backlit Indy backside 540 off the kicker at his home cable. A trick like this has to be seen to be believed, and while AMP did shoot it as a sequence, he didn’t quite think about the landing and so CK disappears behind the kicker in the last few shots. It actually worked out well as what a great cover we got from that mistake!
Inside the magazine we go through the history books to showcase 10-years of the Wakestock Festival in all its glory. With images of every year including Dieter Humpsch going the wrong way over the gap rail, Mark Kenney’s ground-breaking finals run, Rob Moyle’s backside 360 gap and everything else in between, it finishes up with all the highlights from this year’s Relentless Wakestock anniversary celebrations.
In our interview feature, we finally introduce you to the most photographed rider in the British wake scene; Terry Hannam. This guy has such a passion for wakeskating that it was hard to get him off the water and strapped to a chair to answer these questions. After printing countless image of him over the past four years, we though it was a good time to let you guys know a bit about the man behind two covers, ThinkTank domination and the progression of British wakeskating.
Next up the LF Maven girls, Melissa Marquardt, Amber Wing and Shelby Kantar take you on a tour across Australia where they visited for some contests and free riding from Sydney to Brisbane. On top of all the features, the regular departments are all there too with Framed, Come Correct, a cracking WAD photo and the focus of most 12-year old boys; the Girl Page. Matt Crowhurst takes over The Dustpan again but this time showcasing his newly found passion of mixed doubles water acrobatics – think Blades Of Glory on a wakeboard. You have to see these photos, although the not-so-mixed couple of Tom Watson and Connor Jones may be a bit much for fragile eyes!
There’s plenty more for you to read through too, but I’ll let you wait and see it for yourself. So head down to the lake now and pick up your copy. We hope you enjoy it
From Alliance Wakeboard Magazine UK, comes...
1fifty1
There are many ways for a person to stand up and do something for their country. You can join the armed forces and go kill people from other countries, you can train 18 hours a day for ten years to become an Olympic athlete, or you can even write a pop tune for the Eurovision song contest should you want to. We at Alliance have been looking for ways to do something for our country, and more importantly for those who inhabit it for a while, and now in year 3 of the magazines circulation it is time for us to do our part, to stand up an be counted, to really take one for the team and endure (at times) up to 36 hours of constant travelling in cramped conditions with prison standard food and hygiene conditions. Thats right, we had to go to the Caribbean and South Africa to make a DVD.
So who is on this DVD and whys it got a weird name like 1fifty1?
A hand picked group of 8 of the best the UK has to offer up. Representing the wakeskaters, Craig McCulloch came along, with the help of Trigger (Christian Thom), for the groms Nick Davies and James Young, and the four people you couldnt really make a British film without Dan Nott, Jonty Green, Marc Rossiter and Ben Hitch Between them, some scenic locations and some dogs, we managed to fill up 151 tapes over the two and a half weeks.
The DVD's available RIGHT NOW from www.alliancewake.co.uk or by calling 01758 710066. So go order your copy now then get the hell off CrySpace and go for a ride!!
