Hello everyone, I know you haven't heard very much (at all) about AMRITA of lately. Basically in a nut shell we have made a change that wasn't easy but had to be done.
AMRITA has a BRAND NEW SINGER, and will be debuting at Cubby Bear on Nov.21 our in wrigleyville.
We have brand new , unreleased Material, not to mention brand new attitudes...We like to the call it the rebirth of the group and can't wait to play out for everyone once again. We for the first time are at full potential and cannot wait for you all to hear what we've be working on. We will be updating photos, audio, merchandise prices, and layouts on both Myspace and facebook so KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FROM THIS POINT ON.

:::TO A NEW BEGINNING:::
After a long break from the Chicago music scene, ex-members of The Academy Is... and WHITE|CLAUDIA plus more collaborated to put together a new distinctive musical project that blends the influences of timeless classic rock with a modern twist on progressive music. Echoing in the styles of bands such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Yes, and The Mars Volta; {AMRITA} intends to catch people's attention from all different genres of music. With their smooth intricate bass, unique display of time signatures, tempo changes and atmospheric effects the band is bound to grasp one's attention to the stage for a prolonged period of time. Affiliated with its airy style blues vocals and native percussion section, the band fills the air with numerous layers of rythmic music accompanied by remarkable use of all types of keyboards. Dynamically adept, Amrita is acknowledged for their capability to bewilder the crowd with their thunderous jam sessions suddenly transfigured into a soft ambience. With a highly energetic live show, the band hopes to startle those who expect it least, as well as turn a few heads in the process. {AMRITA} strives as a band with no boundaries and thus possesses the potential to display it, always evolving as time continues to carry on... Their name derived from ancient history, "Amrita" signifying a sacred beverage imparting immortality to all who drink it.
AMRITA-"INNERTIDES"
In the summer of 2008 AMRITA released their debut E.P. titled "INNERTIDES" (which in reality is actually as long as a regular L.P.) "INNERTIDES" was Engineered,Produced,Mixed,and Written by all of those within AMRITA. The album is based on a dramatic story that consists of 3 main characters, and 2 supporting pneumas which were all created by the members in AMRITA as well. A story of peculiar Inner emotions that pass through in tides which every human experiences in life. Like many great concept albums, the lyrics within the E.P. interpret the story as if it were a book. If examined closely, the lyrics within the actual album are color coated according to character which helps scheme the tale, so the readers imagination can take action. . .
