Using extended jams, infectious grooves and melodies, A.M. Session is not your typical rock jam band. The Hollywood based group is made up of East coast & West coast musicians with years of experience and a variety of influences. As a result, the band has created an eclectic sound that gets the dance floor shaking. The party atmosphere and chill vibe makes this band a must see for all music lovers looking for a good time. A.M. Session’s main influences include: Dave Matthews Band, My Morning Jacket, The Rolling Stones, U2, The Band, Band of Horses, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Rober Randolph, Tom Petty, Umphreys McGee, Phish, and many, many more.
A.M. Session was formed by Bobby Greiert (vocals, guitar, sax) and Garett Sakahara (keyboard). Grady Hutt (bass, backing vocals) joined the band shortly after. The band began to build a fan base throughout Southern California by performing in classic LA venues including The Roxy, The Viper Room, The Derby and The Mint.
With a "grass roots" approach and a strong belief in their music, the band recorded their first album in 2006 with David Newton (of The Mighty Lemondrops) In making the album, "Where We Know," A.M. Session began to find its "jam band" sound in tracks like "Disconnected", "Smokescreen", and "68." In the Spring of 2007, new members, Dana Diegnan (drums) and Jeff Weissman (guitar) joined A.M. Session, further elevating the bands musicianship and sound. Capitalizing on a new found chemistry, the band embarked on a west coast tour in April of 2007 that reached stops in Portland, Seattle, Boise, Denver, and Las Vegas.
Fueled by the success of the tour, A.M. Session returned to Los Angeles and began writing new material and performed throughout Southern California. A.M. Session ended 2007 by opening up for Flyleaf at the 1st annual Rock the Block festival in Las Vegas, NV. The band is currently joining forces with drummer, Ben Nichalson and producer, Matt Green, on a follow up to "Where We Know." With strong ties to the Pacific Northwest, Colorado and Texas, the band plans on embarking on a lengthy tour in early 2009! Stay tuned for all the details!
