I love Theatrical performances- especially Shakespeare. The Sciences, Art, History, Technology, Computers, Central Park with all it's magnificent twists and turns, reading, cooking, good food from the ends of the earth, these things I dwell on and enjoy. Coffee with a touch of cinnamon, exotic teas or a cup of hot chocolate on a wet rainy day, seagulls by the beach and listening to music that moves me are all worthwhile pursuits.
What I cannot bear
The unwillingness to commit to a worthwhile cause for the good of others when the opportunity presents itself, unjustified accusations, and prejudice defile the human Spirit. To fail to do right when it is within one's power to do so is abominable. The coward who will not stand up for what he or she knows is right, only to avoid conflict is a waste of a perfectly good person.
Unwarranted greed, selfishness, and an inflated sense of self worth; these are characteristics that fail to endear a person to my heart. Those who stubbornly insist that only they can be right, who refuse to listen to the council of wiser men, the fools who see only what is right in their own eyes, these I have little patience for.
Music
Music spanning all genres, and ages
Classical & Opera
Jazz (historic and contemporary)
Anything Avant Garde
Electronica & Ambient
Rock of all types
Gospel
I have a lot of songs I'd like to post but the music player interferes with the playback of the movies, so I posted the music all on it's own page, here:
Old movies such as Sybil with Sally Field, silly movies, Horror flics, political satires amuse me, original and ground breaking animation work intrigues me, foreign films with English subtitles mesmerize me.
The space below illustrates all the time I have to watch TV...
Television
Books
I read often from the Bible, as incongruous as that may seem when you read on....
I've just about finished reading the book "Kaddish" by Leon Wieseltier. Its a very personal story of a not quite devout Jew and his search for meaning in the mourner's kaddish after the death of his father. Next I believe I will go on to re-read either "The Cosmos" by Carl Sagan, or "Entebbe" by Iddo Netantahu. I'll let you all know shortly which ot shall be, and Yes Ely- you can borrow Kaddish!
Anything Stephen King wrote during the eighties I probably own or have read,
Dante's Inferno is hot (pun not intended),
A fair collection of Technical literature ranging from NASA Tech Briefs to Computer industry related literature.
In short, I am an avid, ferocious reader who devours pages and when reading history, fiction, or biographical works can immerse him self in the story.
Heroes
God, Albert Einstein, and the following musicians/bands (a list that will definitely date me as much as it is eclectic):
Keith Green
The Imperials
Billie Holiday
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Handel
Telemann (who composed some brilliantly beautiful string sections)
A sliver of time contains innumerable variables, each of which contain many particles, components, and examples of complexity ever more deeply rooted the vast collection of experiences I have lived, lives I have touched, sights my eyes have born witness to, and emotions this heart of mine has endured, which together make up the history of me.
Perhaps I shall refrain over time from being too eclectic, or obscure,....
Perhaps not
Who am I,?.... but a dream made solid in this realm we call existence? I know I have lived for many decades, four and then some, and while at times late at night when my day is closing my weary bones doth protest, I must admit I for the most part rebel against the label of "old". Well worn like a comfortable pair of your favorite jeans perhaps would suit me better.
My life is filled with all manner of music; some consists of melodic sounds that hail from every corner of the globe, and then some more dissonant- the white noise of thought caught in the ether.
I have accumulated a store of knowledge spanning world history, politics, astronomy, cosmology (the study of the beginning of the universe), and a long list of other sciences- much of it self taught. These days the fields of computing, programing, audio engineering and sound keep my noisy brain preoccupied while the writings of Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, Max Lucado, and Jon Kabbat Zin sit comfortably besides each other on my shelves in a manner that nations of such disparate interests never could.
It is with just such ordinary pleasures that I keep myself sane....
Oh... And I love a good cup of coffee!
Who I'd like to meet:
Those interesting, the unusual, they who challenge the norm, the meek...
Those devoted to never postponing joy

Time is running out in Darfur

Invisible Children
..
In the spring of 2003, three young Americans traveled to Africa in search of a story. What they found was a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them. A story where children are weapons and children are the victims. The "Invisible Children: rough cut" film exposes the effects of a 20 year-long war on the children of Northern Uganda. These children live in fear of abduction by rebel soldiers, and are being forced to fight as a part of violent army. This wonderfully reckless documentary is fast paced, with an MTV beat, and is something truly unique. To see Africa through young eyes is humorous and heart breaking, quick and informative - all in the very same breath.
See this film, you will be forever changed.
What started as a normal trip for Anita Phelps would turn into a series of lifechanging events. Follow her journey through Africa as she realizes a life long dream. Read More...

My good news is I have a date for the 7th annual NYC Musical Saw Festival: Saturday, July 18th, 2pm, at the same church. I already got messages from a saw player from Japan and a saw player from Germany (different from last year's) saying that they plan to attend. Exciting! I hope you will be able to join us again.
Mad Sound man!!! Great to see you. We will definitely need to sit down and catch up on old disaster stories. HAHA. Have a safe/happy new year. See you soon bro. Take care.
