AMT
guitar microphones come in a variety of setups. AMT has engineered different
models in order to fit into the needs / playing applications that acoustic guitarist might
require. The S15G and S3G both are available in the popular
"BP" (belt pack) version and now are also available in the "Studio"
setup as well. The bp version is meant for the player that needs control of there volume
on a belt pack preamp and the studio version is meant for the player to record in a studio
setting with OR is popular among sound engineers due to the "AP40" Studio or
floor style preamp with XLR output. The S15G now also comes with a cable that disconnects
as well. This cable will allow the player to switch back and forth between the different
AMT Preamps as well as convert it to the "W"ireless setup. Different cable's and
preamps as sold separately!
The S15G
is a low-profile condenser microphone that has a cardioid pattern which gives it better
gain before feedback than most guitar microphones on the market. The element as well as
the mounting clamp is designed for the instrument. AMT designs microphones for each
instrument and does NOT adapt elements or mounting gear to fit instruments. The S15G
system clamps to the outside of the guitar. It is adjustable from a minimum of 3" to
a maximum of 5-7/8". The AMT S15G features a flexible 6" gooseneck, allowing the
player to position the microphone for the best possible tone reproduction. It's rugged
construction of anodized aviation aluminum makes it highly durable, while being
lightweight and non-corrosive. The microphone attaches to the side of the instrument, and
is suspended in a 4 point isolation ring reducing handling noise. The AMT S15G connects to
the BP42 belt pack.
The S15G
Studio connects to an AP40 floor preamp. Either preamp operates on
either 9 volt battery or Phantom power to 48 volts DC*. The S15G
is terminated by a 3.5mm plug which connects to a belt pack preamp or a special 4pin cable
to connect to the AP40. The BP42 belt pack houses a volume control, contours the setup for
the intended instrument, and powers the microphone system appropriately. A low Z cable and
case is included.
The S3G
is a unique, low-profile condenser microphone that can only be used with an acoustic
guitar that has a sound-hole under the strings. This microphone incorporates an omni
pattern to capture the sound from inside the guitar. It is suitable for use in quieter
applications. For louder playing applications, please see the S15G. The AMT S3G features a
flexiable gooseneck, allowing the player to position the microphone for the best possible
tone reproduction. It's rugged construction of anodized aviation aluminum makes it highly
durable, while being lightweight and non-corrosive. The S3G is terminated by a 3.5mm plug
which connects to a belt pack preamp. The included belt pack houses a volume control,
contours the setup for the intended instrument, and powers the microphone system
appropriatly. A low Z cable and case is included.
The S3G
Studio now includes an half 'iso-ring' and is suited for recording
applications. The Studio version comes with the AP40 preamp. The AMT S3G Studio
version combines AMT's Omni Guitar specific microphone system with the AMT AP40
floor pre-amp. The AP40 replaces the stock AMT BP40
belt pack pre-amp. The AP40 converts the microphones to low impedance, it regulates
the voltage to each microphone, and with certain models creates a specific frequency
curve. The curve is necessary is on certain models or instruments in order to
maintain the most natural reproduction of sound in conjunction with the achieving the most
amount of gain before feedback in a live application. The output of the preamp is an
XLR Low Impedance balanced output. The output sends signal at Mic Level.
The AMT Roam 4
Guitar Microphone has a flexible gooseneck, 2 point Isolation Ring where the microphone is
suspended reducing valve, key, click, and handling noise. The special flute clamp is
designed to keep the weight down while being small yet very solid on the instrument.
The Micro Transmitter is attached to the Microphone and includes a receiver.
The wireless portion of the Roam 4 is single channel. There are 6 available
channels to choose from in the USA. There are 4 European channels available in
Europe and the United Kingdom.
