   About Amura

I've been writing songs, lyrics, and poems for more than forty years now. Playing off and on in the music business like a kid playing in the streets, ducking and dodging the on coming traffic only to discover the street is where I live, where I feel most at home. Face it, I'm not going to stop wriiting and while I may not like the oncoming cars, I do so love the asphalt, the turf, this nurturing earth that feeds my soul.

So I continue the journey and pick up the hardware, broken pieces, the bloated bag of dreams and pursue, pursue, pursue. Right now, it's just me, the love and the desire to share what comes through with others. Old enough to appreciate the blues I find in my morning cereal. I look in this mirror and see the casing has wrinkles forming on its edges, but within, the spirit still burns bright. So, I no longer worry about the danger in the streets for the band will find me, lord knows the music already has.

Stay in touch, the grass is growing right where we stand. Amura

I'm SO excited about the way the songs I recorded at Sugar Hill Studios in Houston for my upcoming EP turned out!  The tracks are posted on my page, but the hard copy EP entitled "Light of the Moon" will be out soon with some very ethereal cover art.  Additionally, I'm now on Facebook, ReverbNation, and SoundClick.  It's busy times for Girl Friday!  I hope all is well with you and yours, and every day feels like Friday! :-)

Tonight

Ever been to a jazz club where the music is just right. You are relaxing enjoying your drink when all of a sudden, you spirit is taken for a walk. The scenery is soothing and calmness takes over your body. In our entire lives, we run into some class wisdom in the form a song.

Well let me not leave it up to fate to determine when you will experience those precious moments. Allow me to invite you to witness and experience a feature that will do just that. His name is Amura and he will be our featured performer at Mic-Club; an Open-Mic for the Emotionally Naked.

Although he might have Jazzy riffs, bluesy undertones, Amura has a variety of sounds that interprete many voices of the soul. You will be doing your souls a favor by giving Amura love and support at 9pm sharp.

Don’t miss Amura at 9pm followed by our amazing, fulfilling Open-Mic that goes by the name, Mic-Club. I’ll be here waiting to give you a hug and waiting to propose my toast.

Sacha
