My first album, "Beneath the Grass" was well received by college radio, but the whole music scene was in transition around the time of it’s release and originality was suddenly a detriment to your career. I abandoned the idea of finding a record company pretty early on in my career and became very involved in the promotion of local and regional art. "The Girl Who Has Everything" my second album was released in 1999 I played a bunch of dates with this band. I toured Germany and the Netherlands in 2001 and 2002. “Strange Bird,” a collection of unreleased tracks, live radio demos and covers, was released in 2003. The same year, I toured Great Britain and Ireland 2003. I am currently, working with various players in the Netherlands performing and recording. I guess I’m an unconventional artist in some regards because I like to work with linear movement in music; letting something evolve rather than repeat. I like to keep challenging the audience to go places. When I set out to make music, I aspire to do something that sounds really original, but I can borrow from any of my musical heroes at any time. Sometimes originality comes in the form of combining unlikely styles. I'm influenced musically by my Lebanese and Irish ancestry, so at times I try to combine dark Arabic melodies with the open heartedness of Irish folk.

Gentry Bronson (USA) The punk pianist with a lot of panache

A most excellent birthday to you. I play enough instruments now that I could perhaps make a decent go of busking, which I would prefer to playing professionally, as I am presently forced to do. Your birthday is on an ideal date that ushers in renewal.
Not all of us have giant brains like you Amy (Ahem, I dare not think of your other attributes). Some of us actually have to use translating software that accidentally translates an inquiry regarding the rate that a machine makes microphone wire into: I lovingly fondle things; with my feet.
Hope you had a safe and comfy ride home. It was really great to see you... gotta say, your invitation was just what I needed. I have a feeling I'll be seein' you soon.
Started a renaissance fair band with my son, who does some truly hardcore percussion while I'm on winds and lute. Perhaps we can busk in your neck of the woods. Also started growing ancient Egyptian wheat in my back yard- as well as Atlantic Giant Pumpkins. Thinking nihilistic but optimistic thoughts.

There was A great story about Andres Segovia. when a student of his was making a musical point on the guitar, Segovia informes him that he had cut his nails but hadn't filed them. He then proceeded to take out a kit and emery boards etc from his case to instruct his student about his responsibilities to him self the guitar and the audinence. There is a new cafe in utica. Thanks Lynn. Tramontane has a few different meanings, ours taken from the definition of being a stranger in a strange land, a foreigner, an outcast. It's also the title of an indstumental "B" side from (guess who)...FOREIGNER!
Hope you and your family are well. Thanks again for the well-wishes.
I can definitely hear the Kate Bush influence. Great stuff Amy. Thanks for the add. Check this woman out, she's very similar to you in my opinion. Enjoy.
