Sounds Like
Silversun Pickups, Yo La Tengo, Pavement, Thurston Moore, My Bloody Valentine, Curve, Mono, ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, PJ Harvey, Sebadoh, Giant Drag, Wire, Nine Inch Nails, Suede, Sonic Youth, Manic Street Preachers (from 1994), Joy Division, The Postal Service, Lush, and lots of miserable 90s music they don't make anymore.
"They specialise in making a wall of noise... however with this they actually write really addictive songs to go with (their) unique sound. Basically Amy Blue have some excellent tunes... hopefully we should be hearing a lot more from a band who strive for originality." - GOD IS IN THE TV
AMY BLUE is made up of regular British people. By standing in a room at the same time thrashing at strings and drums and stomping on fuzz pedals, they produced the noises you may be listening to right now. They recruit those who believe and destroy those who refuse to see past the haircuts and identikit janglesongs that their friends, lovers and MTV's feed them. This is LoudFuzzyNoisePop for those who dig awesome sounds.
AMY BLUE make beautiful, dark and electrifying music that's different from every band you've heard this year, or last. Pitchfork said they were "pretty clever actually". SPIN like them. Billy Corgan liked them enough to not take them to court. RedHeadedStepChild Records put them on their compilation. Their debut album is out now on ultra-limited edition CD, audio cassette+dvd-r "package" (video footage, digital art, bonus tracks and japes), and via iTunes.

Nice job! I was really curious who you'd translate your sound in the studio and it really worked out extremely well. I love how you can be gentle and mean at the same time. Would be a good soundtrack, too! File under: Heavy rotation.
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes - I think that would be Simon? It's been a while but I know we used to converse more in the early myspace days. Still on the Trail of Dead forum? Log in name? Oh, too many friends. Anyway, the birthday was good, going to see TOD in a couple of weeks in Seattle. Just checked out your songs and they are awesome! Nice melodies, great voice, interesting words (didn't get them all.) All the best for continued success! Rock on, Eilis
Hello, thanks for the friend request, I could only get about 10 seconds of your songs to play right now on the myspace player, but you are friends with Screaming Tea Party and that 10 seconds were way good enough for me - sounds ace! You're playing on Wednesday then?
Hello!!! And a happy new year to you as well! Oh, there were certainly be a lot of studying...I'm just glad I finally have a break from it for now. I'm so excited to hear the new mini album when it's finished...I can't wait!!
errr...yep. it was about a year ago and i'd just discovered some loose change down the back of the sofa! I'm still trying to get to grips with it and make it sound slightly less drippy / brian eno - which is still lovely, if a little restricted. I've discovered through chopping breakbeats into sections you can muck about and resequence them while doing all the other usual gubbins in the lightbox. Far easier to do in the MPC sampler, but not quite as pretty. Still not sure if the tenori is the right thing for a suspected epileptic to be using tho'! Cheerio Hombre
