Soulful keyboard songstress & dynamic performing artist Amy Clarke continues to receive positive industry attention, media coverage, and domestic & international exposure.

From Ultraworld to Burning Man, from The White House to The Viper Room, Amy Clarke has performed at some of the prestigious & infamous rooms in the country. Born to two teachers in Silver Spring, MD, Amy was reading (Time magazine!) at 3, playing piano at 4, and singing songs about what was going on in the world pretty soon after. After winning several vocal arts & music competitions & scholarships, she chose an academic scholarship to Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service in Washington, DC in order to broaden her knowledge of global affairs and world cultures.

There, Amy took advantage of every opportunity to create & perform music on pianos in the hauntingly beautiful acoustics of historic campus chapels. Graduating with a Lifetime Membership in the M&B Dramatic Society, she performed professionally at The Studio Theatre & other stages in DC, singing her original music only at full moon gatherings, local clubs, and underground house parties. However, as skilled DJs, producers, and record labels discovered her musical talents, Amy was encouraged to move to New York City to further her artistic development.

Amy emerged on the downtown NYC music scene in 2004 as a solo experimental keyboardist opening in residence for a series of Brothers' Brothers DJ parties in Williamsburg, Brooklyn @ M Shanghai Den. After earning a certificate in electronic music production from The SAE Institute of Technology, she independently produced and released her debut "After The Fall" EP in 2006 in a successful solo show on the grand piano at The Bitter End in October 2006. The 5 song EP proved a powerful political & artistic statement and translated into performance opportunities around the country and radio overseas. Amy's music has also been featured on national, cable & internet TV; FM, Internet, & Sirius Satellite Radio; she has been interviewed on both TV and radio and played numerous high-profile gigs at top venues. Amy receives her 4th ASCAP Plus award in January 2010, and - after extensive touring, travel, gigging, and live shows following these underground hit releases -she finally found a great central LA studio and is currently finishing production on her first full length album for a spring '10 release.

*Amy recently released a preview single from this project - MARY (her story) - in early spring 2009, co-produced by Steve Leavitt, which is now available at iTunes, Amazon, Amie Street and other online retailers.

Clarke has performed her innovative, acoustic or electro-acoustic music (whether on a grand piano, upright piano, pipe organ, her synth keyboard or both) at: SXSW Music Festival (Mar'08 - Desert Highway @ Momo's & Austin Java), Sunset Junction Street Festival (Aug'09), South Park Music Tour (Jun'08 - Festival Performance), Indiegrrl Conference for Independent Women in the Arts (Aug '09 - Indiegrrl MainStage, TryXO Main Stage, & Nette Radio), Indiegrrl!/HC Festival for Change (Sep'07 - Festival Performances) and notable rooms across the country. New York City: Amy has performed at The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, CBGB's 313 Gallery, Marion's, Rose Live Music, Mo Pitkins House of Satisfaction, The Cutting Room, Caffe Vivaldi, The Triad, The Duplex, P.S. 122, M Shanghai Den (Williamsburg, Brooklyn solo residency), BAP (Bushwick Art Project '06), Hope Lounge, outdoor concerts, and benefits for Amazon Conservation Team, Theatres Against War International, Go Girls Music, Planned Parenthood, The FCW Society, Habitat for Humanity International, The Tree of Life Grove, & Conservation International. Washington, DC: Amy has performed from downtown DC underground venues such as The Black Cat and The Red & The Black to All Souls Church & the Ellipse of The White House. She has also taken the stage at the Studio Theatre, Georgetown University, Catholic University, The National Theatre, and produced a benefit concert for the Amazon Conservation Team (www.amazonteam.org) in Aug '09 & Americans For A Department of Peace (www.afdop.org) in DC on the eve of a 9/15/07 protest march on Washington. Los Angeles, CA: Amy has performed at The House of Blues, The Viper Room, The Hollywood Renaissance Hotel, Genghis Cohen, The Derby, The Verity Room, Tangier, The Talking Stick, Cafe Muse, Karma Coffeehouse, TRiP & The LA State Historical Park as well as the Sunset Junction Street Festival, LA Burning Man Decompression, Methodfest Film Festival in Calabasas and in several fundraisers (Gaia Grove, Tree People, The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, Songsalive, Code Pink For Peace, Wo+men 4 A Cause, Indiegrrl, A Faery Hunt).

While primarily a solo artist, Amy enjoys experimenting live with guest musicians, has produced several music benefits and fundraisers and is developing an initiative called Gaia Grove (http://www.gaiagrove.org ~ "helping heal the earth") to further benefit local communities, artisans, and the environment. Her own label MAAT Music references an ancient goddess of truth, justice, balance, and healing, reflecting Amy's passions for global culture, social and political activism, and modern day spirituality. Amy has also starred Off-Broadway, appeared in feature films, and has been featured and interviewed on network TV, cable TV, HFM Radio UK & Sirius Satellite Radio. Amy now lives in Los Angeles, CA, where she continues to compose, create, perform, produce, and make frequent local trips to get lost in nature.

"beautiful, magical, original" Mary Ishimoto Morris, The Washington Post

"A gifted musician with a lovely voice" - The Eclectic Collection: A Celebration of Women in Music

"When I first heard Amy sing 'From Here', I knew that she had arrived! It's brilliantly crafted, with a tag and melody that haunt you...The story draws you in immediately, gets to the tagline effortlessly at the end of each chorus, yet means something new each time...Amy has come into her own, with vocal stylings and dynamics that hold back just enough to keep you hanging on every word. This song has a very appropriate title, because to me, it defines a new phase of Amy as an artist, starting right 'From Here'." - Lorraine Ferro, Multi-Platinum Winning Songwriter, Songwriters Hall of Fame, National Academy of Popular Music

"Magnificent singer/songwriter/keyboardist" - Peter Quinones, Editor, Alternative World Fanzine

"Accomplished, amazing, and really going places" - Larry Wines Host, Tied To The Tracks, Acoustic Americana

"A wicked piano player and fantastic songwriter" - Drew Brody, Songwriter/Producer, M-Lab

"After the Fall is an album that only Amy Clarke could create... every one of the tracks is a bona fide masterpiece. The singer-songwriter pays tribute to strong, independent women and the men and women who love them, reinforcing the need for love, equality, and tolerance for all. And while promoting these causes, she makes music that sounds really, really wondrous..."
- Jed Ryan, PM Entertainment

"After the Fall is beautiful, haunting yet phenomenal songs...wow. Knocked me out with the lyrics, the arrangement, the production and the delivery. Awesome music from the heart and soul. I listened several times, over and over, because it was so powerful...I believe this is just the beginning of a beautiful, poignant and fruitful artist's journey" - Toni Koch

"an extremely talented artist"
- gilli moon, President, Songsalive!, Warrior Girl Music

"A dramatic piano enchantress...as a performer, she could start a revolution..."
OUTmusic

"full of dark, quirky and experimental sounds and complex lyrics"
- Pete Harris, Indie Sounds NY / Harris Radio

"simply beautiful" - GoGirlsMusic

"lyrically great" - Mark Hudson, Multi-Platinum Hit Songwriter/Producer(Aerosmith, Ringo Starr)

Have a great weekend and saw the following quote ☺ "There is a point in life when you get tired of chasing everyone and trying to fix everything, but it's not giving up. It's realizing that you don't need certain people and their crap." ☺ ☺ ☺
