People often ask me if Freeze is a stage name. It's not, I was born with it.
Beyond weather, I’ve covered movies and entertainment, reported on the Olympic Games in Salt Lake and Atlanta, and was the first female sideline reporter for Major League Soccer. I got my first experience in TV news working as an assistant at KTLA in Los Angeles during the O.J. Simpson Trial. From there I moved to Portland, Oregon for my first tv news writing job and was also assigned to cover the Portland music scene and movies (in 1995 I saw 262 movies in 365 days.)
I’ve interviewed hundreds of entertainers and athletes - - some of my favorites are Dick Clark, Howie Mandel,Danny DeVito, Russell Crowe, Jon Bon Jovi, Ed McMahon, Bette Midler, Denzel Washington, Glenn Close, Kim Bassinger, Nicole Kidman, Seth Green and William Hurt. In 2005, I had a cameo role on the show "Scrubs,” but I never got to meet Zach Braff!! My favorite country music star is Dierks Bentley.
In my free time I enjoy sports and fitness. One of my greatest achievements is becoming a 1999 Body for Life Champion. I love to run and have completed five marathons. I’m an avid Major League Soccer fan, even though I’ve never played soccer myself. Go Fire!
I have a Certified Broadcast Meteorology accreditation from the American Meteorological Society. I have a B.A and B.S and a Master Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
Before coming to Chicago I worked as a Meteorologist in Philadelphia, Denver, and Portland. I grew up southern Indiana and I have lived in seven states.
I don't return email that's inappropriate, suggestive, or flirtatious!
Who I'd like to meet: Chicagoans.... Weather watchers... Cool people from around the world...
And these Famous Faces: Kenny Rogers, Madonna, Andy Griffith, Zach Braff, Oprah

THE OZ CODE Hi, Let me share a story with you that you already know or at least think you know. The Wizard of Oz is a wonderful story. Those of you that are parents or grandparents of children under 13, let me encourage you to sit with them at least once a year and watch the movie. Afterwards, talk about it and what it means. Let me give you my version: Dorothy and Toto are lost in the Land of Oz. They discover that the only way they can get back home to Kansas is to follow the Yellow Brick Road and find the Wizard. Along the way they come across, what in today’s terminology we would call, three dysfunctional people. (I have a real problem with that term because the word ‘dysfunctional’ implies that someone else ‘did it to us.’ In other words, we have no responsibility for where we are in our lives.) So, here are these three ‘dysfunctional’ folks. There is the scarecrow, who has no brain. There is the tin man, who has no heart. And finally, we have the lion that has no courage. They are headed down the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy and Toto so that they can find the Wizard, because the Wizard is the one that can ‘fix them’. They have to jump through a few hoops, kill the occasional witch, etc., before the Wizard finally agrees to ‘fix them’. The Wizard says to the scarecrow, It’s not that you don’t have a brain. It’s just that you don’t have a diploma to prove it. So the Wizard gives the scarecrow a diploma and instantly the scarecrow is ‘fixed.’ The Wizard says to the tin man, It’s not that you don’t have a heart. It’s just that you can’t hear it ticking away down there. So he gives the tin man a clock that goes ‘tick, tick, tick’ and immediately he is ‘fixed’. Lastly, he looks at the lion and says, It’s not that you don’t have any courage. It’s that you don’t have a medal to prove how brave you are. Here is your medal. And just like that the lion is ‘fixed.’ Wasn’t that easy? You’ve got to love this story! But, what d
