About me:
The mission of the Amy Marshall Dance Company is to further evoke the passion of the arts in audiences globally through a deeper appreciation and knowledge of what modern dance and the performing arts can bring to each individual.
The Amy Marshall Dance Company (AMDC) is a premiere dance company that presents a powerful new force in dance. Established in February of 2000, under the guidance of Artistic Director, Amy Marshall and Executive Director, Chad Levy, AMDC takes the art of dance to the next level. The comfort of the classics meets the brilliance of the future as Marshall's work blends choreographic physicality with the art of human passion. The elements of Marshall's composition bring the power of imagery and intense strength to the stage in over nineteen works giving each piece breathtaking individuality. Her blend of intricate spatial patterns, expansive line and athletic movement is a distinctive grace that cannot be challenged. Hailed by "Dance Insider's" critic Paul Ben-Itzak, "[Marshall's] dancers do things you've never seen before in record time. And they do them with great verve and musicality."
Since its existence, AMDC has toured extensively, performing, teaching and setting the company's repertoire on universities and dance companies across the nation. AMDC has also developed an educational outreach program including residencies, lecture demonstrations, and school/community performances to educate the public about the art of modern dance. The educational outreach program has traveled to the New Hampshire Yeomen Workshop, Goucher's Summer Arts Institute, and frequently visits South Carolina where the company teaches multiple master classes and performs in over thirty schools.
