Amy's "Mystery Keeps You" is masterful & brilliant , songs like great paintings you want to sit in front of for a while. I know we all will be hearing much more from Amy Petty and she is well on the way to becoming a household name certainly across the States & Canada. (Chris Darling, Host/Producer, Us Folk, Portland, ME)
"The Prince's Daughter" opens Mystery Keeps You and sounds sort of like (Sarah) McLachlan playing a John Mayer tune, if you can imagine it. The guitar-based song is stark and lyrically deep, and will suck you into the vibe that runs throughout Mystery Keeps You. "Honey On The Skin" is a sensuous tune with a guarded vulnerability that is intriguing. (Wildy Haskell, www.wildysworld.blogspot.com)
I feel deep longing, sorrow, nostalgia, hope, love, joy, perspective and wisdom when I listen to these songs. It scrapes some scabs off, but brings healing in the aftermath of the wound. Isn't that what art is supposed to do, as opposed to entertainment? (Taylor Mesple, Owner of The Maple Room in Lewiston, ME, President of the Maine Songwriters Association)
"Mystery Keeps You" is a collection of very well-written and passionately performed folk/rock songs, with influences ranging from various directions. Kinda like a modern-day Joni Mitchell. Amy Petty is a storyteller, but she's also a true musician. Especially harmonically she is very talented and she can accentuate her excellent lyrics that way and with her rich vocal sound. One of the more promising acts I have come across in this past year. (Inner Ear Media)

Born of the DNA of Rock and Roll and heavily influenced by classical music, Amy Petty’s sound and songwriting is a compelling, complex and original soundscape that weaves a lush tapestry of folk, pop, rock and blues ballad.
As the daughter of the soundman for the popular Detroit-area cover band “Stonebridge,” and surrounded by people who loved the music of Yes, Boston, Queen and The Scorpions, Amy’s ear developed both an appreciation for and an ability to create complex harmonies and layered vocals. Classically trained, Amy graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Voice Performance from Oakland University in Rochester MI, where she received numerous awards and honors, sang lead roles in several operas, and sang with the Michigan Opera Theater, Meadowbrook Theater, the Pontiac-Oakland Symphony and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Art, mystery, and spirituality influence and infuse her poignant songs. These sonic canvases showcase the heartfelt emotion behind her lyrics and provide a foundation over which her voice and choral harmonies soar. Often compared to Sarah McLachlan, Eva Cassidy, Alanis Morrisette and Jonatha Brooke, Amy Petty has a signature voice and style both familiar and oh-so-new.
Since moving to New Hampshire, Amy has performed at numerous venues, including The Stone Church in Newmarket, NH, The Skybar in Somerville, MA, The Maple Room in Lewiston, ME, The Press Room in Portsmouth, NH, Clark University, Berklee College of Music and Boston University among others.
Amy’s debut CD, “Mystery Keeps You,” produced and engineered by musical powerhouse Jacob Detering (Bonnie Raitt), and featuring spectacular performances by R. Scott Bryan (Sheryl Crow, Peter Mayer), Eric Grossman (K’s Choice), and others, will be released on July 12, 2008 on the Red Pill label.

Hi Amy, How are you doing? Looking at your schedule of events, things look pretty hectic to me and that you've scarcely time to breathe. Great to see you're doing well and no less than your considerable talents deserve. I hope you're on with a new album because I've nearly worn your last one out! I've just uploaded two new songs if you fancy a listen before they hit the high street superstores. LOL Hope you're in fine fettle. Warmest regards, Paul
