American Idol, Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Everybody Loves Raymond, Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State-- and any other ghost hunting, spook searching, haunted this or that program; History Channel, Discovery Channel, Charmed-- the first season, before it got so cartoonish and silly; Bewitched-- I know, I know, cartoonish and silly; I Love Lucy-- this was in reruns of reruns when I was a child and now my kids watch it, it's timeless. I like real life shows dealing with criminal forensics-- if you want a gal who can discuss blood splatter-- that would be me; Psychic Detective-- and any other programs using psychism to solve criminal cases.
I'm sure this list, as all the others, will experience changes now and then.
The funniest thing about "Everybody Loves Raymond" is that the characters remind me of my husband's family. Ray's mother Marie, especially, could have been molded after my own mother-in-law. My husband says the scariest thing is--he thinks so too!

Most of my reading involves nonficiton books on occult topics by Silver Ravenwolf, Scott Cunningham, Ann Moura, Ly de Angeles, Raven Grimmasi, Laurie Cabot, Konstantinos, Raymond Buckland, etc. I love Anne Rice and when I'm in the mood, Poe. I adore Tennyson, had a crush on him when I was 18. Sir Thomas Mallory and all the tales of King Arthur, Charlotte Bronte and her sister Emily, Dan Brown, the diaries and letters of Anne Morrow Lindbergh, The Diary of a Witch by Sybil Leek, books by the late Betty McDonald: The Egg & I and Onions in the Stew. I like books on real life mysteries: The disappearance of Amelia Earhart, the Bermuda Triangle, etc. I love books about real life forbidden romance, such as King Edward VIII and Wallis Warfield Simpson. I use to love to read tawdry cheap love novels, but I no longer have the time or patience... Again, as with music-- I tend to gravitate toward work that touches me in some way.

Greetings to all who enter my realm...it's time for an update:
I am a wildly eclectic, self-initiated, solitary Witch. If an old path isn't working, new paths can always be forged. Don't hold yourself back from spiritual endeavors and growth because of someone else's obsolete rules or mental hang-ups. Forge your own path, walk your own way. I have extremely strong leanings towards Dianic Wicca, but none-the-less, I also incorporate hoodoo, green witchcraft, as well as aspects of Wicca into my practice.
I am a Reiki practicioner, receiving my Reiki Level I Attunement this year from my closest friend and Reiki Master, which made the experience even more meaningful. This is a fascinating world of healing and serenity, and I feel I will be a student of Reiki throughout this lifetime and many lifetimes to come. I'm delving into the vast cauldron of knowledge to investigate and learn about other holistic healing methods as well-- cyrstal healing, aromatherapy, reflexology, etc. Reiki opened the door to a whole new world for me.
I am a professional tarot reader, offering various spreads as well as video tarot readings at my tarot sites. I use the intuitive method of reading the cards, promise no clouds with silver linings, try my best to help people find the light at the end of the tunnel, and I take absolutely no responsibility for the individual choices people make about their lives-- Some people are determined to go down the wrong road and make the wrong choices; no matter what the cards, the gods, or common sense tells them. At the other end of the spectrum are those people who manage to pull it all together after a little tap on the shoulder from Destiny and a new perspective from a tarot reading. Tarot reading is incredible. Sometimes I get to know more than I care to about someone; and then again, I may wind up learning one of Life's lessons right along with them!
I am a legally ordained member of the clergy, but at this time do not do weddings, handfastings, sagings, etc. I will never say 'never', though, you don't always know exactly what direction you're going to go until you get to the crossroads.
I have been a home schooling mother for the past 20 years or so, the mother of a large brood, I might add-- seven of my birth children, two step-sons (with lovely wives), and two grandbabies.
My life is neither glamorous nor exotic-- it consists of mountains of laundry, piles and piles of dishes, an often cluttered living space, lots of cats, heavy traffic, conflicting schedules, and always in the background-- that wonderful steady 'hum' that is Life.
I'm also a hit and miss housekeeper, avid reader, rock hound, chocoholic, master procrastinator, dreamer and visionary, the typical 'crazy cat lady', and a very stubborn independent wife-- just ask my husband.
This is “The Man”. We met in a Wal-Mart parking lot, at a time when each of us was entwined in unusual circumstances in our personal lives. We overcame obstacles to begin our relationship, and we have overcome even more obstacles to maintain it. The success of our marriage is a testimony to perseverance, determination, commitment, love, and choice. Real romance—real relationships—are not ivy covered fairy tales; they demand a lot of work and constant attention. Love and marriage are not for the faint of heart.

My Wytchlings
I've been a stay-at-home homeschooling mother for umpteen years now. I have six children at home: 21, 19, 15, 13, 11, and 8; and one adult child living out-of-state. (And there's only one boy in there-- so we have a very "girly" house.)
My second and third children both finished high school at age 15 and began their college classes-- that's when skeptical family members stopped questioning me about homeschooling. :)
The following is a December '08 Yule update on my wytchlings, with an adjustment in some of the birthdates since then. Also note-- I have never used my children’s real names on the internet, but once in a while I slip up. Also, Isabella is ready to enter the public arena of the working world and she is on the verge of losing her anonymity anyway.
The Elf (8)...She is still skinny! She has the longest leg bones I’ve ever seen on a little girl and I suspect that by the time she’s finished growing she’ll be 6 feet tall and barely 120 lbs. Her hair is below her butt now, and she loves makeup—what girl doesn’t? She is hooked big time on Mylie Cyrus and I hate to think about how much mula I’ve contributed to that company. Her favorite movie is the Kill Bill series (Uma Thurman kicking butt.), but she still hasn’t outgrown her devotion to Sponge Bob—which surprises me, probably because I don’t see the fascination in it. Emma can still be my ‘cuddle baby’, but I can see that this time is going to come to a rapid conclusion. All of her older siblings adamantly claim that she pulls my leg, getting away with murder, and plays the pretty baby role to the hilt.
Sophia (11)...She is a voracious reader! She’s read all of the books in the Lemony Snicket series, as well as the entire list of Harry Potter books (several times). She’s currently into the Cirque de’ Freak series and she usually has two or three different books that she’s reading at any given time. She is our ‘handbag’ lady. She doesn’t go anywhere—including right here in the house—without carrying around a handbag full of books, notebooks, pens, pencils, and I don’t know what all. She’s built closer to the ground than her younger sister and is much more solid. She’s also a packrat, and you cannot imagine and I cannot describe what all you might find in her room. I caught her the other evening eyeing an empty pop bottle carton. She said, “Do you want this?”
Guinivere (13)...She is Betty Crocker and Donna Reed incarnated. She is constantly cleaning, preparing something in the kitchen, washing up cups, running around the house with a feather duster in her hand, or mopping the stairwell. Sometimes I actually have to nix her house maid activities to get her to do something else instead—no kidding! She loves animals and is responsible for the acquisition of our chicken Cletus. She is always on top of litter box duty, refilling the wild bird feeders, or taking corn out to the squirrels. We’ve also caught her sneaking scraps outside after everyone else has gone to bed to feed the ‘wild kitties’ that come through looking for handouts. She will make someone a good wife someday, as the old clique goes.
DeadRose (15)...She is waiting to get her lip pierced for her 16th birthday next year, and she’s next in line for a tattoo. She is the typical ‘Goth girl’, although she won’t admit it right now. “I’m not Goth!” she staunchly declares through her dyed black and red hair, black eye shadow, and punk clothes. She loves iTunes, being mysteriously mysterious, secrets, late nights and sleeping in, trips into the city, horror and scifi flicks, and Emo. She doesn’t like cutesy clothes, pink, Dancing with the Stars, or anything that smacks of conventionality at it’s most boring. She has finally decided, thank heavens!, that her mother isn’t so bad after all.
Number One Son (19)...At 19 John is half way to an associates degree in Computer Technology. If we could have afforded college tuition when he was too young to be eligible for financial aid, he’d already be there. He’s currently taking classes at Metropolitan Community College, but I’m sure that in the long run he’ll have to transfer to UNO to continue his education. He is very tall, 6’1”, with long brown hair past his shoulders. He’s also very quiet, prefers to have his nose in a book, is so computer savvy that he handles all the updates, virus cleansings, or whatever else we need done to keep us up and running. He just got his first job in the produce department at Wal-mart and is discovering the wonderful feeling of self-satisfaction that comes from earning a paycheck.
Isabella (21)...She has so many irons in the fire that she meets herself coming and going! At the moment she is a strawberry blond with the fairest skin you’ve ever seen. She will be graduating next year from UNO with a degree in graphic arts. (I’m sure you’ll all hear from us then!) This means that she commutes to Omaha five days a week, and let me tell you, when gas was almost $5 a gallon, that was a killer. She not only carries a full load of studies, but she also works part-time in the administrative office on their work/study program. The shear volume of art projects, art shows, museum receptions, etc., that she has had to deal with are incredible. She’s had her work displayed at our local art museum here in Fremont, and she has work up at the AIM Institute in Omaha as we speak. This year she also became a licensed tattoo artist. The Kitchen Witch
The Kitchen (or Cottage) Witch...for me, this is the epitome of what I have always viewed witches as being ever since I was a child. It is that unobtrusive and eccentric woman who grows herbs in her gardens and about her house, who has developed a unique and unusual relationship with the wild things that visit her yard and inhabit her grounds. It is the woman who has the ancient knowledge and wisdom to incorporate the magickal use of herbs in her everyday life—in the food she prepares, in the water and solutions that she uses to clean her home, in the incense she burns to smudge her living quarters.
It's not the flashy publicity oriented media image of a witch that people seek out...it is the quiet Wise Woman in the unusual house down the road; the woman people whisper about curiously amongst themselves, the woman cocooned in ancient mysteries and magickal ways.
This is the Kitchen Witch.

Pets: Past & Present
I grew up immersed in animals, animals of all kinds. My grandmother was a tenderhearted woman with a great love for dogs. The consequences were that everyone in our community who had a crippled, elderly, or otherwise unadoptable dog brought it to her. She had up to twelve at a time. They would join our household to peacefully live out the rest of their days.
In among the dogs were a string of cats, gerbils, hamsters, canaries, horses, several wild animals that needed some mending and tender loving care, as well as the occasional stray critter that would just drop by for something to eat or to warm itself ahead of the kitchen stove.
One grizzled old gray tom cat came and went for almost ten years. He'd usually drop by when he had been beaten up and ripped to shreds in a fight. We'd nurse him back to health, let him sleep at the foot of the bed, warm him milk and give him medicine. But the minute he was healed-- he wanted to leave, and nothing could sway him to stay. We knew we'd see him again, when he needed our help.
Three animals that made the most lasting impact on me were Spike-- a large gray timberwolf my parents kept one summer until the zoo out west was ready to receive him, Pie-- a robin we raised during one magickal season, and Randy-- my black mare, with whom I spent many happy hours exploring fields and shelterbelts and parts unknown.
Spike still visits me in my dreams on occasion, always appearing suddenly, waiting until we make eye contact, and then spinning 'round to disappear, until the next time.

Fairies
Some people believe in angels...I prefer to cast my chips with the Fairies. I never was comfortable with angels, even as a child. I didn’t perceive them to be the soft and cuddly, feel good, guiding, watchful creatures that the PR people in the Land of Christendom claimed them to be. Of course, not all fairies play on the white side either—but they’ve never pretended to. You know where you stand with a fairy.
As much as I adore Faeries, I choose not to work with their energy. I have found them to be masters of guile, quick-silvered, hot-fingered little kermunchigans. I got tired of my car keys, house keys, and *especially* my earrings disappearing. Granted, they have helped me retrieve (or given back to me) some missing jewelry at times, but they like to play 'light fingered Louie' too often for my taste. Their energy is often unpredictable and scattered.
For those of you who want to work with fairies, you might note that they do not like iron. As a matter of fact, iron is used to keep fairies at bay because it interferes with their energy. That means you don't want ritual tools, like your iron cauldron, sitting about your cast circle when you're trying to invoke these sprites. (You are invoking them from within a cast circle, I hope.) You might also notice that when your invocation is successful, some people actually experience a physical sensation as fairies make their presence felt. You may feel a tingling sensation on your arms or other exposed skin, kind of like the sensation you feel when little bugs are crawling on you. (Have you cast that circle yet?)

Happy Thanksgiving my friend, a friend gave me the comment holding the turkey and I just had to use it. It takes me back to last year and time raising turk. she is still alive and well and living with a friend in Nebraska. I have much to be thanksful for this year and know you are a part of that Thanks. I am so Blessed to have wonderful friends like you.
