TRACY ALLEN CLARK, AKA AMYTHYST- Has been an actress since childhood. She is of Puerto Rican decent and is one of the very few people actually born and raised in New York City, on the upper west side of Manhattan. During her life she has lived everywhere from Central Park West, to the West Village and Soho. All of which has allowed her to cultivate a unique and multi-cultural stance of life. She has done a variety of shows for television including prime time sitcoms, UP ALL NIGHT (STARRING GILBERT GODFRIED), THE COSBY SHOW & SOAP OPERAS as well as a number of films for PBS (ONE OF WHICH STARRED MORGAN FREEMAN) AND THE KISS (W/NICHOLAS CAGE). She has also appeared in the Opera FAUST at the BUSHNELL THEATRE.
TRACY grew up with a director, producer father who won a TONY
AWARD for the Broadway show BUBBLING BROWN SUGAR, which is still running in several part Europe. Her mother a Millinery Designer in the 80’s, sold to BARNEY’S and to PATRICIA-FIELDS (Sex in the City) in New York, and a Bridal Designer in the 90’s is where Tracy discovered an appreciation for fashion and all of it’s outrageousness.
TRACY was a ballerina for several years then was accepted to the school of Performing Arts where she caught the acting bug. She decided to become an actress and was acting on a regular basis until 2003. She then decided to take her poetry and add music to it, and then she formed a band. With this band she gigged at clubs in New York, such as CbGb’s, Elbow Room and Acme Underground, Joes Pub, Plan 9 as well as many others. Tracy eventually decided to disband the group, and seeing as how she had written, produced and performed all of the Songs, a group was not necessary for making her next record. She was then excepted to the Ivy League College Columbia University. So she bought a mixing board, software, and a sampler etc… She taught herself to record all the music from home.
Over time Tracy's musical tastes and
Sound changed Dramatically. Originally her sound was a sort of Gothic sound. During her years in New York she was introduced to Avant guarde Electronica, Tech house and Electro dance music and thus began her musical evolution. Tracy has also appeared in the opera FAUST at the BUSHNELL THEATRE, which was nice fit with Tracy’s classical training in Opera. She has had a CD single aired on WFIT & WLIR in NEW YORK and her CD has been sold at Tower Records and HMV, in 2007 She Starred, Co-wrote & directed, the hugely popular underground cult hit, it Takes 2 to Travel.
TRACY has always been one to come up with new and innovative ideas throughout her life and decided to come up with a way to showcase her music along with something visual she decided to come up with a show for television. Trying to sort out a theme she realized that one of her favorite things to do on the weekends was to bargain hunt and go to flea markets and tag sales, so she decided to create a show on tag sales and also use her music in the opening and ending credits, as well as showing people the person behind the music.
TRACY wanted to start something that had not been done before, and to incorporate all things interesting and new into one show. She now stars produces and co-writes It Takes 2 To Tag Sale and the show has become a cult underground hit and is now in it’s 4th season!!
