By all accounts, Sirantha Jax should have burned out years ago...
As the carrier of a rare gene, Jax has the ability to jump ships through grimspace—a talent which cuts into her life expectancy, but makes her a highly prized navigator for the Corp. But then the ship she's navigating crash-lands, and she's accused of killing everyone on board. It's hard for Jax to defend herself: she has no memory of the crash.
Now imprisoned and the subject of a ruthless interrogation, Jax is on the verge of madness. Then a mysterious man breaks into her cell, offering her freedom—for a price. March needs Jax to help his small band of rogue fighters break the Corp monopoly on interstellar travel—and establish a new breed of jumper.
Jax is only good at one thing—grimspace—and it will eventually kill her. So she may as well have some fun in the meantime...
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
"An irresistible blend of action and attitude. Sirantha Jax doesn't just leap off the page—she storms out, kicking, cursing, and mouthing off. No wonder her pilot falls in love with her; readers will too."
—Sharon Shinn, William L.Crawford Award Winning Author of ARCHANGEL and READER AND RAELYNX
"A terrific first novel full of page-turning action, delightful characters and a wry twist of humor. Romance may be in the air. Bullets, ugly beasties, and really nasty bad guys definitely are. Skip lunch—buy this book!"
—Mike Shepherd, national bestselling author of the Kris Longknife series
"Grimspace is an exciting, evocative and suspenseful science fiction romance, reminding me of Firefly and Serenity. Characters and a world you'll think about long after the book is done. Fascinating!"
—Robin D. Owens, award-winning author of HeartMate
"An unflinching tale of survival, redemption, and serious ass-kicking. Jax's brutal eloquence will twist your heart when you least expect it."
—Jeri Smith-Ready, award-winning author of EYES OF CROW
"A tightly written, edge of your seat read with intense characterization—plus one pounding, hot SF plot."
—Linnea Sinclair, RITA Award Winning Author of GABRIEL'S GHOST and GAMES OF COMMAND
Sirantha Jax doesn't take chances...she jumps at them…
Sirantha Jax is a "Jumper," a woman who possesses the unique genetic makeup needed to navigate faster than light ships through grimspace. Jax has worked for the Farwan Corporation her entire career. But now the word's out that the Corp deliberately crashed a passenger ship, and their stranglehold on intergalactic commerce has crumbled—which means that Jax is out of a job.
She's also broke, due to being declared dead a little prematurely. So when the government asks her to head up a vital diplomatic mission, Jax takes it. Her mandate: journey to the planet Ithiss-Tor and convince them to join the Conglomerate.
But Jax's payday is light years away. First, she'll have to contend with Syndicate criminals, a stormy relationship with her pilot, man-eating aliens, and her own grimspace-weakened body. She'll be lucky just to make it to Ithiss-Tor alive...
"Ann Aguirre proves herself yet again in this gritty, steamy
and altogether wonderful urban fantasy. Outstanding and
delicious. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next."
— NYT bestselling author Patricia Briggs
"An authentic Southwestern-flavored feast, filled with magic,
revenge and romance, spiced with memorable characters
and page-turning action. ¡Muy caliente!"
— Rachel Caine, author of the Weather Warden series
Right now, I'm a redhead. I've been blonde and brunette as the situation requires, though an unscheduled color change usually means relocating in the middle of the night. So far, I'm doing well here. Nobody knows what I'm running from. And I'd like to keep it that way...
Eighteen months ago, Corine Solomon crossed the border to Mexico City, fleeing her past, her lover, and her “gift”. Corine, a handler, can touch something and know its history—and sometimes, its future. Using her ability, she can find the missing—and that's why people never stop trying to find her. People like her ex, Chance...
Chance, whose uncanny luck has led him to her doorstep, needs her help. Someone dear to them both has gone missing in Laredo, Texas, and the only hope of finding her is through Corine's gift. But their search may prove dangerous as the trail leads them into a strange dark world of demons and sorcerers, ghosts and witchcraft, zombies—and black magic...

I bet those two guys went places. Danny Bailey and Eddie Glover, where are you now?
I'm writing a sci-fi series, featuring mouthy navigator Sirantha Jax. She's in a world of trouble and on the run from the Corp.
My other project is urban fantasy, first book scheduled for April 2009. Tired of vampires and werewolves? You won't find any in BLUE DIABLO. Magic exists, but it's ritual based, not point and shoot. Demons can be summoned and pacts are made, but by and large, mankind is responsible for the evil in the world. There are Gifted humans, who possess powers like TK, telepathy, pyrokinesis, clairaudience, clairvoyance, and psychometry. The heroine, Corine Solomon, possesses the latter, which is the ability to read objects with a touch.
You can learn more about me by reading my blog on a daily basis. So
try some; it's good.
Just finished Blue Diablo, loved it! Looking forward to more books in the Corine Solomon series, as well as your next Sirantha Jax book (and anything else you decide to write).
I am halfway through Blue Diablo. I started reading it last night. Unfortunately, I did have to put it down and come to work today. It is so good. I love Corrine.
